I mean, call me naive, but I'm just not a fan of foreign governments sponsoring overt political campaigning apparatus in the US.

For all the wailing about AIPAC, that's at least funded by American Jews, this is actually an elected government of a foreign country.

Were the Hungarian CPAC events in Hungary?

Well, Hungary does have conservatives. In fact, conservatives are a considerable majority there, Orban or not. They probably get together there and talk about conservative philosophy and politics like conservatives in America do.

Yes. They even invited our VP there as a guest speaker.

I know this. Good for CPAC.

I don't understand the issue that a private organization conducting such events. It's baseless criticism in my opinion.

CPACs are held in multiple countries. See the wikipedia page.

If it is in Hungary that makes OK because Oligarchs would never spread money to the properly aligned US "non profit" political machines

I don't care if CPAC hosts stuff in foreign countries…have at it.

But don't we think there's a line where foreign countries elected governments are sponsoring a US political action group?

I agree. Hungarian funding of CPAC and US funding of the UN must end.
