It appears our top scientists are mysteriously dying or disappearing. Scary stuff if there's anything to this.

Last part is correct. UFO peeps been going crazy over this one for a while. Pretty sure they were the first to raise a flag on it actually. I've only read some blurbs and tangential stuff so far but definitely think there is enough there to strongly say, "This is not business as usual".

Disclosure is going to be a problem. If there was contact or if crash sites were collected, certain companies were provided this information and received a leg up over other companies. It seems to me that the disclosure of that could be disastrous and there's a motivation for keeping it all covered up.

Didn't read the linked story.

But between an active in science but retired 2 star general going missing (responsible for $2B in current military research). The two female scientists that developed the new super metal that resists heat better than anything ever before, and the others all clustered in a either geography or employer, I have a hard time thinking this is random.

The article says she "hasn't been seen since" disappearing. If her husband is a scientist at LA, might be they are using her to get to him to divulge secrets?

If he is a scientist working on sensitive projects, I would expect our national security folks have been closely monitoring him and his communications since the disappearance.

The article notes and I concur that administrative assistants know all about the inner workings of their office. They're not called gatekeepers for nothing.

They often know all the passwords and where all the skeletons are buried. They're the ones who do all the actual work in the office. Finally, as with other sensitive positions, she had security clearance.

Depends on the security level. A missing scientist with an in-depth knowledge of radioactive isotopes is an issue. A secretary with the scientist's home phone number is not.

This is where I'm at with it, Russia, Chy-na or Iran.

If they all just disappeared then the really weird speculation starts, but several were murdered so no portals to another dimension or alien abduction theories there.
