Student shot the teacher but the student is dead? Was this an attempted murder suicide or did the cops kill him? Story doesnt say.

Initial reports look like it was an attempted murder-suicide with only the suicide part a success.

Prayers for quick recovery for the teacher. Also prayers for the quick emotional recovery of the students as that's gonna be a class that sticks with them for some time.

My kids go to a Comal ISD school a few miles south of this one. Great school district with strict security onto campuses but no metal detectors at the entry from what I have seen. The kids from this school were evacuated to the middle school my daughter attended.

I don't know much about Hill Country College Prep, it's a small campus with less than 300 kids 9-12 grade. I have seen it when driving past but don't know why Comal has such a small campus with low enrollment with the other big campuses close by.

This was an attempted murder/suicide. No update yet on condition of the teacher but the student shot himself and is deceased.

It is a STEM college prep / dual credit high school. Freshman class this year is 150. This campus has only been open 2 years. The school has been open 5 years. They are very high on Robotics, Computers, cyber security, and UIL competitions. They just won 1st overall in District UIL competition on Friday. Lots of very smart kids.

I am praying that the teacher fully survives and the truthful story is eventually told. I am sure it will be. It is a sad situation for every student and teacher there.

Where do your kids go?

Until today, I thought this was an elementary school in CISD.

HS now. Son went to PR MS and daughter went to Bulverde after it opened

Sheriff held a PC and said the shooter's parents went to the Middle School where parents went to pick up their kids after they were evacuated and that's when they were told their son was the suspect and he was deceased.

A student witness said there were three gunshots in total. The rumor is the teacher was shot in the head area.

My godson goes to that school, he is fine, but knew the teacher well.

Apparently they don't do any active shooter drills so when it went down everyone just ran in all directions.

Not surprising but he isnt saying much right now. It is a lot to process.

Is it strange that there have been no news updates on this in almost 24 hours? You would think reporters would at least follow up on the condition of the teacher tha was shot. I can't find a single report filed after yesterday evening.

Thanks. So the student was experiencing academic challenges. He was 15, at that age what triggered the stress over grades to the extent he would want to kill someone? Could he be a high achiever that also had some underlying metal issues? We may never know the answer since he was a juvenile.
