The Israeli government completely closed all Christian and Islamic holy sites in Jerusalem today, not even allowing the Cardinal alone into the Church of the Holy Sepulcher for Palm Sunday mass. Meanwhile Jewish holy sites were allowed open for up to 50 people at a time.

Israel is ok with killing Christians and taking their land, so this is actually less extreme than their typical approach, but not surprising. It's unfortunate the Israeli government controls such important Christian holy sites and treats Christians with such contempt.

I think it only became a "misunderstanding" after word got out about the shenanigans they were trying to pull. Glad Huckabee had the stones to actually defend Christians and not the Israeli government in this instance.

This is a complete pile of bull*****

But, thanks for posting Nick Fuentes...

Someone please explain why I, as a non-Catholic, should care about this?

You admitted in your own post you don't need to, so why explain it to you?

Why post if you don't care?

Just because it's Catholic doesn't mean it may not be relevant to others. I was just asking the context and why it may matter beyond practicing Catholics.

If this is purely about religion, why post it here and not the R&P board?

I have instructed the relevant authorities that Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, the Latin Patriarch, be granted full and immediate access to the Church of the Holy Sepulchre in Jerusalem.

Over the past several days, Iran has repeatedly targeted the holy sites of all three monotheistic religions in Jerusalem with ballistic missiles. In one strike, missile fragments crashed meters from the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

To protect worshippers, Israel asked members of all faiths to temporarily abstain from worshipping at the Christian, Muslim and Jewish holy sites in Jerusalem's Old City.

Today, out of special concern for his safety, Cardinal Pizzaballa was asked to refrain from holding mass at the Church of the Holy Sepulchre.

Even though I understand this concern, as soon as I learned about the incident with Cardinal Pizzaballa, I instructed the authorities to enable the Patriarch to hold services as he wishes.

Not defending Bibi, but all major religious sites have been closed in Israel since the **** started with Iran. They reached out to Cardinal Pizzabella and are making arrangements for him.

Yeah I don't think Israel or any other country is just going to cede territory like that. There's the Vatican but that was centuries ago.

Following a productive meeting between the Israel Police and Latin Catholic Cardinal Pierbattista Pizzaballa, a mutual framework has been established for upcoming Easter ceremonies.

Due to the complex security reality of Operation "Roaring Lion," ceremonies including the "Holy Fire" will be held in a symbolic, limited format. This coordination ensures that freedom of worship is maintained alongside our shared, primary duty: the protection of human life.

In the past few weeks, Iranian missiles and debris have impacted within the Old City. These life-saving restrictions are a direct response to a real and present danger to all worshippers

Another reason why Jerusalem should be considered an international city free from Israeli rule. You cannot stop Catholics from attending our holiest sites on our holiest days.

Literally Islamic Republic ballistic missiles HAVE EXPLODED NEAR THE CHURCH OF THE HOLY SEPULCHRE last week-

and yet the idiots want to turn over control of Jerusalem to the Muslims.

Brilliant!!

there will NEVER be "international control" (whatever the hell that means) over Jerusalem. that idea died in 1947.

Welcome to 2026.

I think he will likely be too old, but he'd be a fantastic Pope. I had hoped he would win this last time.

The only reason you guys have a country is because a bunch of Christian nations gave it to you.

Jerusalem was ours long before it was Bibi's.

If you guys can claim ownership of the West Bank and Gaza, I'm pretty sure we can do the same thing over Jerusalem.

Wow. Should we do that to New York too if the Muslims start raising hell there? Make every country give up their most important city if that city sees too much sectarian strife.

I assume Ukraine would have to give up Kiev. China goes back to leaving Hong Kong alone. Mexico gives up Mexico City if the cartels shoot things up.

You're not a serious person. Jerusalem is the center of the Christian religion.

Anyone who recommends we take the holy city of Jersualem, the city of David, the city of the remnants of Judaism's temple, away from Israel because Catholics dont want to be inconvenienced by muslims tossing missiles their way is...really the only person on this entire thread who isn't a serious person.

Well... 3 does make a crowd and 4 is just to many.

notice the same anti-semites all worked up over Israel ATTEMPTING TO PROTECT CHRISTIANS FROM INCOMING IRANIAN MISSILES..

never say anything about Christians being butchered by Islamist terrorists throughout the world.

Just in Syria alone the past year:

Church Bombing: A suicide bombing at the Mar Elias Greek Orthodox Church in the Dweil'a suburb of Damascus in June 2025 killed at least 25 people and wounded dozens. A little-known group, Saraya Ansar al-Sunnah, claimed responsibility for the attack, which fueled fear among the Christian minority and raised questions about the new Syrian government's ability to provide security.

Sectarian Clashes: In March 2026, sectarian violence, including the burning of homes and shops, erupted in the Christian-majority town of Al-Suqaylabiyah after a dispute between individuals from a nearby Sunni town. This followed earlier massacres in Alawite-dominated areas, highlighting broader security challenges and the vulnerability of minorities in post-Assad Syria.

Ongoing Instability: The civil war has seen the Christian population shrink drastically from 1.5 million before 2011 to an estimated 300,000 to 1 million. Christians face threats from various groups, and many consider leaving the country due to the lack of safety

You're absolutely insane. We talk about Christians killed by Islamic terrorists all the time. Pope Francis literally included them in the Martyrology of the Catholic Church even though they were Coptic Orthodox.

It's very telling that Israel expects to be judged on the same standard as literally Terrorists though. Heaven forbid we expect a different level of civilization from a country who owes its entire existence to Western Christianity.
