LA's best hope is to elect a Dem who operates more as a centrist (like Adams and Bloomberg in NYC), but they probably won't. That elections machine is geared to push left every chance it can and take the population with it. The machine is too strong IMO to make a real difference if you are the GOP. Best chance is to work the system to try to push voters more to the middle which will still be hard.

The governor's race is a Dem self-own by having too many candidates splitting the vote. I think by the time the primary actually happens in early June the field will have diminished and you'll see a Dem on the November ballot (who will win by 10-15 points).

I have no idea who Spencer Pratt is or who else is in for LA Mayor. Obviously Karen Bass is terrible.

As far as the Governor's race, while the polls are promising, the just need Katie Porter to drop out of the race and have someone like Obama or George Clooney come in and play Kingmaker and the Dems are back in top.

I like Bianco but at a State level, it would be very tough to win over enough of the lunatics in California.

He's from "The Hills" faux reality show from a decade or so ago on MTV.

He played an obnoxious controlling entitled dip**** but hard to discern how much was done for the faux drama.

He was on Hannity the other night and lays out coherent thoughts and ideas.

I didn't watch their shows, but if I remember his wife is the one that had like 17 plastic surgery procedures at one time or something change her entire look. Especially her face.

So those nutjobs got popular as I was moving to Australia in 2007 and gained more notoriety in 2008 but I just heard about how nutty they were on some LA based podcasts I was listening to at the time. Tim Conway Jr. If I recall correctly.

The fact they lost their house in the Palisades fire gives him some good motivation but, I'm not sure if the diverse voters in LA will care enough about that.

He's going to have to build a real campaign. But, since I was out of the country when he got popular, maybe there are more Blacks, Latinos, Filipinos, Koreans, Gays and Jews who know who he is. It's going to take all of them for him to get elected.
