Did anyone get a mailer asking for donations to this organization? Maybe I haven't been paying attention, but I am not familiar with what they do and how they do it.

I read through their mailer and as far as what they say they stand for and do, they align with my views pretty well.

But before I donate, I wanted to ask if anyone had information or dealings with them and what are your thoughts about donating to their group?

They're legit.

They've been fighting against leftism at A&M for at least the last 5 years.

If you Google site:texags.com "Rudder Association" you'll find a good number of threads about it. Of course, some are just the residents leftists talking about how horrible it is because they dare to stand up to traditional values.

Whether you should donate money; I won't say yes or no since that's a personal choice to make.

They were pretty front and center around protecting the Sully statue.

That is the only thing I have known that they have done, but I am sure that there is more. But I did appreciate their efforts there, at least.

This topic came up on the "Texas A&M University Former Students" Facebook page a day or two ago.

Be advised that FB page is not affiliated with the Association of Former Students, but is run by a couple of people very active Brazos County Democrats. As expected, they were the first to chime in with negative things to say about Rudder Association.

The Rudder Association is an outstanding organization that has been fighting the culture war at A&M for some time now. They seem well connected and to have influence with current A&M leadership, and have helped expose and in some cases stop the leftward slide. I think some of their best work probably involves low-key and behind the scenes conversations with the decision-makers.

In the formation stage of the Rudder Association, all of the folks were like-minded in combating the woke pathway that A&M was trending towards. At some point, there was a power struggle and that's when I stepped away. Still seems like a good group of folks, but I was turned off by the in-fighting that was going on.

I witnessed a little bit of that from a distance. Best I could tell there were a lot of people who shared the passion, but perhaps some of them were not the most qualified to execute that vision. I can see how that was a turnoff because it did look somewhat messy. That was unfortunate. That said, I think the organization is on a strong footing now.

64 here. Don't wear cargo shorts. Have an M3 in the garage and wouldn't be caught dead in New Balance.

They formed when the "tear down the Sul Ross statue" crowd got loud. That assshat Kellen Mond and his stupidity and the other football player that shoved a senior citizen member of the "pro Sully statue" (the beginnings of TRA) happened on campus. Then the activist professor Alvard started leading protests behind the scenes and making chalk drawings on the ground in the Academic square around Sully. Fun times! I remember that was the time I actually realized that our university had encouraged a nest of militant Marxists through our university president.

The Rudder Association was formed and I was eager to join but soon became disappointed with the direction they wanted to take in how to fight these cancers. They were too meek and slow to move and I lost interest. TRA didn't want to take a blowtorch to these vermin and kick them all off campus (at least that is the feeling I got). I was going to donate to them but didn't in the end. I hope they have gotten better. I need to look back into it if that's possible he case.

I'm a donating member. Been to several annual meetings. Missed the most recent one. From my perspective it's an Old Army crowd.

They seem to keep a close eye on the administration.

I think I will donate some and see how this goes. If they do what they say they intend to do, it will be a good thing for the University

I have a pair of NB, but I don't have a lot of choices in "It's comin' right for us!" size 17s. And I'm a young-un at 54.

That refused to back down from a bunch of people, including athletes, screaming at them in front of Sully.

There are times for public frontal assaults as in the case with Sully, but often times, these battles are better fought quietly behind the scenes with the influential people that are making the decisions, out of earshot of the trouble makers.

I encourage you to take another look.

Annual membership is only $50. Small price to pay to fight Marxism at A&M.

Wasn't it that lying POS Young that was President at that time? If so, that virtue signaling POS still owes F16 $1,200 for solving the 'Aggie Smollett' race hoax in an hour. He should've been fired, not moved to another position within the TAMU system. He's a progressive liar and should be ridiculed in public by everyone that has the unfortunate time they encounter him. If our university actually had standards then he'd be collecting cans to buy food today and not cashing generous checks from the university that he brought shame to!
