Told yall. Our job scene is bleak. People fell for the fake numbers that were put out earlier. Now the reality will show up.
Stop H1B. Stop offshoring. Save America.
So these numbers are real and the previous ones were fake. OK. Why not keep faking it then?
AI is real and replacing human cognitive labor. You'll eventually figure that out.
All numbers are fake. Even this one. The real numbers are way way worse.
AI is real but AI is not (yet) stealing your job. That is fake and CEO-speak that many non-technical people swallow.
Truth. My buddy at shell right now is trying to get a perm position from a grad program. No joke, every "entry" spot hes applying to within it, hes competing against other employees with 15+ years of experience
Fixing is simple.
1. Stop H1B (or slow it drastically and don't renew). Trump is doing that and it will take time as our corps are drugged by cheap labor.
2. Tax outsourcing. You want to send jobs outside, you pay. US needs money to run and this infra does not pay for itself.
At this point jobs will stop leaving and our kids will be given entry level jobs, not Rajesh from Ckumbonampooram.
Agree. However, the people here (bootlicker boomers) will blast you as a "lib" for continually attacking CEOs, meanwhile those same people were able to build up their portfolio into what it was because they didn't have to deal with outsourcing. Pretty rich
Are you guys trying to pretend outsourcing is something new? Because I was in Delhi 20 years ago checking in our the well-established outsourcing operation the big global company I worked for had with Genpact.
Deloitte and other accounting firms sent massive amounts of their ops to India and other places... 20 years ago. Hell, when I started with them 25+ years ago probably 25% plus of your department where on H1-Bs from the Fiji Islands to india / Sri Lanka to Russia and Turkey.
When I left corp america 16+ years ago, the Texas retail electric provider I worked for had all call centers in S America and the Philippines.
And I am solid Gen X.
Me thinks some of you are just now encountering this concept because its affecting you currently. But none of the H1-B and outsourcing complaints is new.
