I've supported his runs for Congress. Did he really vote against Trump and miss like 90% of the votes while I Congress as the ads attacking him say?

Ignore political ads
Maybe he did vote against Trump. Maybe it was one time, and Trump was wrong
And someone posted here that he had a child born prematurely, and he missed votes becauae his wife was in thr hospital amd the baby in NICU
"This has been a challenging week for the American people and for my family. A few days ago, my wife Emily gave birth to our son Willie, who was born premature and spent time in the neonatal intensive care unit."
— Rep. Wesley Hunt Press Office (@RepWPH) January 6, 2023
"Willie needs his father and Emily needs her husband. Today, I’ll be returning home to hold my son and be at my wife’s side. It’s my intention to get back into the fight as soon as possible." -WPH

I've met him and talked to him personally multiple times over the past 4 years and I think he's a fantastic American, regardless of whether he voted for Trump in 2016 or 2020, he's been an avid Trump supporter for the past 4 years at least. I wish there was a big public database of politicians voting info that we could do simple AI queries into to find the real facts, because I find all political ads so misleading I have no idea what to believe.
The only direct example I have is that we invited him to a big military charity event we host annually and he said he wanted to go but can't because congress would be in session at the time. He's also mentioned hating how much time he doesn't get to spend with his young kids because he has to spend so much time in Washington. Of course he's the one that wants into the senate so who knows how much of a regret that really is.

Im very conservative and concerned on how populist trump has pushed the republican party. I went to a Jon Bonck rally last week in Houston and felt gross how the whole crowd was clapping like seals at the most simple campaign slogans in a row put together as a speech. I think I would consider running for office in the future but think the base is too simple at this point for someone who doesn't just pledge 1000% loyalty to the party line.

My job takes me away from my family a lot. It did when I was in the military, and it does now that I'm retired and a civilian. I hate every minute away from them. But its important, so I do it anyways. Sometimes sense of duty trumps personal desires.

Definitely cherry picked, but Hunt has a pattern of missing votes though. He's has missed 19% of all votes while in Congress, I believe the average is around 2%, and he's has missed more than 25% of votes in 2025.
