Poor Aussies learning another FAFO lesson with their liberal trash government. This is definitely a wet dream of the sleezy dumocrats in America. Scam people everywhere for just a $1 or so per transaction for random slush fund causes by hiding it in fine print behind QR codes or other multi step processes just to view it. If they complain, lay the pity guilt trip on the consumer about being heartless to support charity xyz. It will be ActBlue 2.0.

OP gonna be pissed when he realizes his grocery store charity donations go to corporate tax deductions.

Don't even look into how much of your hard earned and spent money goes to lobbying/bribing politicians.

But yeah lol at Australia

I never do those for that exact reason lol why would I lower their tax burden. If i want to donate, ill go directly to the charity so i can deduct it.

It's annoying when all these businesses ask if I want to round up. My son wanted Taco Bell the other night, so I ordered in the drive thru and they asked if I "wanted to round up for students." WTF? Did George Costanza come up with that?

Any "charity" donation added to a bill is tax deducible for the business and not the individual.

Yeah that's not even a little bit true. They accept you $.43 and donate it to the charity. $.43 in is a liability called "Due To Charity", $.43 out pays said liability so the account is now $0. They get no tax benefit from the transaction at all.

How are people dumb enough to believe it somehow benefits the business?
