Guess ESPN likes losing money because no one is going to watch unless it is sports like beach volleyball.

ESPN did op out of their contract with MLB after last season. Sunday night games this year will be on NBC/Peacock.

The WNBA typically lost 50 million a year.

With Caitlyn Clark, and the massive amount of promotion they've gotten the past 24 months, they're now only expected to lose 42 million this year.

But regardless what the market says, ESPN is going to dedicate more time to the losing effort, and they've established another women's league that will be airing on another channel.

No one wants to see this. It is what it is. Once this experiment is over, I wonder how much money will have been lost overall.

To be fair, I don't watch Sunday night baseball on ESPN. And I won't start watching it on its new home, NBC.

But women's sports content in primetime?

Yes offense, no one cares about it.

However some fake numbers will be used to placate advertisers for a few years until there it is proven there's no correlation between increased sales and chick sports.

High school basketball and soccer are far more entertaining than women's sports, just reality. Women's basketball is just flat out painful to watch much of the time with missed layups and almost no athleticism. If Disney wants to just set more money on fire that's their call I guess.

Disney didn't exactly choose to get rid of MLB on sundays. MLB just found another network they preferred. Definitely won't have the same ratings with the WNBA etc though.

ESPN's sports talk shows are pretty much unwatchable anyway. So why not their actual sports programming? Interesting to watch the mouse transgender itself in prime time. Of course the Yankees/red sucks may be big in Mass & NYC, it's of little to no consequence to viewers here in the south. They must be thinking MLB is heading in the same direction as the NBA. Otherwise who knows the reason behind this.

Besides, Who had da bears trying to get of Chitcago and move to Indiana on their bingo card last fall. so just about anything can happen.
