Those reports indicate the judge will have a hearing to determine sanction for her behavior in court.

Reading the article (as I know nothing else), this is in federal court - which has its own rules and procedures (and why they're so damn expensive). It also elucidates to her already being warned during jury selection. The article also states a separate hearing over sanctions will happen - which is based on federal rules, not state ones. The costs of mistrial will likely be included in her sanctions.

If you don't have the facts on your side, pound the law. If you don't have the law on your side, pound the facts. If you don't have either, pound the table [and make a scene trying to get rich by becoming the next ben crump].

Reading that she also flat-out told the jury panel that she was an activist and the defense were the good guys fighting for social justice.

That is an interesting question. It looks like he was allowing each defense attorney an opportunity to question the panel during void dire, and given the defendants may have competing interests, that seems fair, even with a time limit for each to ensure the trial moves along efficiently. I wonder if she has co-counsel for her client, who may have to conduct void dire in her place given her clear violations of the rules set in place?
