My wife works at a small Christian school that runs from PreK to 8th grade. They start their spring pictures today.

They've had a few parents up in a wad because Lifetouch, the company doing their pictures (as well as school pictures all over the US) has a tie to the Epstein files.

The guy who was CEO of the company that owns the company that owns Lifetouch was listed in the files, apparently as creepo. His company acquired Shutterfly, which owns Lifetouch, in 2019. He stepped down as CEO in 2021.

Parents are now afraid of having their kids' pictures taken by this company. I admit my understanding of the whole situation is limited, but this kind of stupidity is just...well...stupid.

It's unbelievably stupid. These same parents will plaster pics of their kids all over FB but are deeply concerned that school photos taken by a company with extremely weak ties to Epstein will end up in the hands of pedos?

You're surprised that parents don't want their kids photos taken by a company ran by a pedophile? Are you also surprised that farmers want to keep foxes out of their henhouse?

The company isn't "run by a pedophile". Good grief.

The guy has been gone from the company for ~5 years.

This is exactly what I'm talking about. It's not run by a pedo. And even if the guy was still in charge of the company when this all came out, he's the CEO of the company that owns the company that owns the company. I'd be much more concerned if it was the office manager of the local branch.

I'd be concerned if the actual photographer was a creepo...but not a retired CEO.

Meh, people need to have the same distrust for big company CEO's as they do the politically elite. Almost none of them are Christian and many of them are hyper-narcissists and psychopaths.

Because his wife has to deal with this stupidity and either try and explain how irrational they are being or go out and find another company. Mass delusion and stupidity come with a high cost.

I don't get them simping for a big business like LifeTouch.

If parents want schools to pause the relationship with the company while Epstein ties are further investigated, why would the average Joe be upset about that?

Two thoughts.

1. What if some of those parents don't post pics of their kids online

and

2. I thought the accusation was more about the company's database of pics being used by connected individuals as a menu of sorts?

I would allow my kid to have his pics taken but I also wouldn't look down on anyone that said no to this company.

There are no "ties to Epstein" other than a retired CEO of a company that bought a company which had bought a company.

If you Epsteiners think every single entity who did so much as sell a pack of gum to Epstein, or even did business with a company who did business with another company who did business with Epstein, then you might as well shut down every business in the country right now.

If you want to see the pictures and videos from the Epstein files there is a clones You Tube site called Jeff Tube that has them in a user friendly format. I looked at some of it yesterday and without context it is difficult to take anything away from it. The faces of young women are blacked out for privacy and there does seem to be a troubling number of videos of girls that could be 15-20 years old.

One interesting video has a guy that you only see the back of his head and profile and I swear it is Kamala Harris' husband on a trip with Epstein

I don't have kids, but I could understand why someone with kids wouldn't want a company that used to be run by a guy alleged to have hung out with Epstein and gotten massages and blowjobs with him taking pictures of their kids.

I think people aren't bothered that Epstein allegedly did business with the former CEO. They're uncomfortable with things he's alleged to have done around Epstein.

This accusation has zero basis in reality and doesn't hold up to the slightest bit of scrutiny. School pics are probably the most public and shared photos a child will take. They often end up in online yearbooks for everyone to see. They are pics of a well dressed child smiling for the camera. How does someone possessing one of these very public pics put a child in danger?

Ignorance is assuming you/me/we know everything there is to know about any of these ******* companies. If they don't want them putting their kids in front of these folks so what? They're already choosing not to participate in public school system for a multitude of reasons. This really is no different

What if you don't want to support the businesses of pedophiles? Is that a good enough reason, or does the actual photographer need to be a pedophile?

So, if an employee of let's say Bank of America gets arrested for child rape, does that mean the entire company is guilty and should be boycotted and shut down?

When it comes to Epstein, logic and critical thinking has gone out the window for those who think Epstein was basically Hydra.

It is 100% emotion driven at this point.
