Has she done it in the Olympics? That picture is not from the Olympics.

No, she grabs an American flag.

Like she did today.

After inning gold.

Her political activism and statements prior too should disqualify her if memorializing people on helmets is not allowed.

She is a disgrace.

Agreed. I am glad they DQedt he Ukrainian guy, but they should have DQed her too.

DQ'd her for what?

Again, they don't have an issue as long as it's not during the competition. You keep ignoring that part.

Putting politics over sports, same thing the Ukrainian tried to do.

Ukraine guy tried to do it during competition. She didn't. One is against the rules and one isn't.

This thread is strange as hell, are people actually arguing that an American should be disqualified from the Olympics because she held up a gay pride flag not at the Olympics?

Yes I am. Sodomy should not be allowed to be celebrated by USOC athletes.

They would ban a very vocal Christian conservative who openly opposed homosexuality in a split second.

See the saga of Jalene Hinkel and the US Women's Soccer team. Removed not for her lack of skill, but because of her Christian convictions and stance against the LGBTQ cult.

Until the tables are turned on these people, they will never learn.

But they banned Russian athletes for Putin's Ukraine invasion.... so which is it?

"Outrage of the Day" spreadsheet updated.

Between the ideologues of the hysterical left and the ideologues of the frenzied right this spreadsheet is getting pretty large. Can't wait for tomorrow's update. Hopefully is something really really important like an obnoxious musician or "offensive" commercial.

Yes. But for me only because I can guarantee you that she wanted me ruined and for my family to suffer for not getting an experimental "vaccine" a few years ago. Her open signals to her "tribe" tell me that. I would actually place her in a mental asylum if I was dictator. The type of gays that lay low and just act normal are much less likely to support such hate-fueled tyranny.

Will this rule be invoked for sculling competition in the next Summer Olympics?

Political purity tests are an excellent idea for athletes, let's apply it elsewhere also!

Russian athletes can compete. They just can't compete under the Russian flag.

The level of "look at me!" in our culture is both gross and tiresome, and it's on both the people insisting they and their pet issues be glorified and the people who are outraged by anything they slightly disagree with that happens to hove into view.

Representing your country on a global stage and performing on international TV to an audience of millions across the globe and maybe even winning a medal used to be sufficient reward to feed the egos of people.

Not sure why anyone, especially here takes issue with this. This is good IOC. The Russians might be the universal bad guy today, but if they allowed this, what about the next? I'm not trying to see Palestine flags or abolish ice or trans flags at the Olympics. It's the most pure sporting event in the history of sport. Sure, it has its own quirks, but keep politics off the field of play.

I think the outrage is that the rule is absolutely SILLY AND REDICULOUS to distinguish between during a competition and between competitions! You are still an athlete that is getting political during the Olympics and drawing attention away from the sports weather it is during the competition or during amd interview. The rule needs to be to not entertain public political commentary until after the Olympics are finished or else be DQ'd.

IOC Rule 50.2 of the Olympic Charter prohibits any form of demonstration or political, religious, or racial propaganda in any Olympic sites, venues, or areas, aiming to maintain political neutrality during the Games. While athlete expressions are restricted on the field of play, guidelines allow for expression in interviews, social media, and team meetings, provided they do not violate other rules.

If an athlete does the sign of the cross, which is a religious demonstration, are they disqualified?

The IOC, in this Olympics, allowed an Italian snowboarder to sport the Russian flag on his helmet during a competition. Why was this allowed but the Ukrainian athlete was denied adorning his helmet to make a political comment?

Tell me more about this "good IOC". I'm sure the President of the IOC will come out and explain this with more of her crocodile tears.

Correct. The melts about this online are pretty darn funny though.

Heck, some of the melts are in real life hilarious.
