Alberta is weird. They are more quasi libertarian than anything. They are very socially liberal and would instantly be one of the most socially liberal states in the United States but they are also big on oil production and gun rights. They would also be unwilling to give up government run healthcare. The political dynamics there if they were somehow to join the United States would be very strange.
