Its been a while sincei i read up on the Korean War, but didnt Truman blunder there?

As i recall, we destroyed a lot of left over WWII equipment in the South because we were afraid the South would use it to attack the North. Then, when the North invaded, we pushed them back to the 38th paralell fairly quickly. But Truman didnt want to stop, and crossed into North Korea. That brought the Chicoms into the war and prolomged it four more years

MacArthur never gets enough blame though. He also begged to be allowed to drop 50 nuclear bombs on the Norks/Chinese, which would have surely begun WW3. His relief was one of the better decisions an American President has made in the past 80 years.

It bears noting that Roosevelt and his cabinet kept a lot secret from Truman, including the Manhattan project/Atomic bomb.

Anyway, among Democrat presidents I personally think Truman is the rare 'under-rated' ones.

He did not, it just went back to the way it was. Truman didn't "give" Hong Kong back to the UK either.

The auto pen event should be a national outrage. This event alone makes that clown the worst ever. Some people should absolutely go to prison for a very long time. They ruled this nation without being elected. It was a silent coup by every definition. Why this is not being pursued by the Trump admin as a high priority crime is baffling to me.

Agree.

Truman made the right call on Korea. Right now thanks to his decision to defend South Korea because now they are helping the US Navy build ships.

Mind you I'm biased on Korea since spent a year there in the mid 80's up close to the DMZ.

Also two other things Truman did recognize Israel & integrate the military.

1. LBJ. Created programs to make people dependent on government and buy off their votes. Bragged about winning the n votes for a lifetime.
2. Obamaeffective communicator that pounced on feelings and emotions to bring upon "change" in the form of socialism. It's my eternal belief that we will never overcome his destruction over the 3 terms he led the country.
3. GWBdisastrous decisions on Iraq, public education bill with Ted Kennedy, took over a surplus and spent it quickly into a solid debt that Obama pounced on to spend into oblivion. Biden was just his simp.
4.) Carterwimped out hard against the USSR and Iran, terrible inflation, and zero economic innovation, coined the Misery Index.
5.) Wilsondisastrous League of Nations that directly led to WW2 happening.

I might give GWB a little relief regarding Iraq, but the Patriot Act and mass warrantless surveillance is unforgivable.
