401k should have outpaced inflation. Did you have your in cash? Iranian Reals?

lol. Reported inflation.

I also enjoy the muh inflashun stopped the moment Trump became president. It hasn't. And it won't, they tell you it has but it hasnt.

I didn't say inflation stop.

And what do you mean about "reported inflation"? Sorry your BMW lease payments and soy lattes aren't what they used to be. Newsome (or Massie) will fix it.

MTG got all mad when Trump threatened to deport people who worked for her construction company. Even though she was for deportations.

She also blamed Jews for the Devil going down to Georgia.

No, very simple. Like any woman, she got mad when Trump told her no. Nothing more complicated than that. Same complex Massie and Paul have. Meanie Trump just won't do what they demand!

Anyone who says Trump isn't MAGA enough (MTG included) has lost the plot. Trump is MAGA. He defined it. He continues to define it. MTG, Tucker, and others are attempting to hijack the Trump movement, which is what MAGA is. They want to be the next thing. And I hope Vance sees that and stiffarms these leeches.

Trump's influence on the R party will start fading after the upcoming midterms. At that point he'll be a lame duck and begin losing political power like other lame ducks do. He'll probably also be dealing with a Dem House and potentially the Senate also and will be under the gun with various investigations and maybe even impeachments of some of his Cabinet.

Many in the R party will no longer be afraid of what Trump thinks because he won't wield nearly as much power over the party. His hardcore base will still support him of course, but they can't vote for him anymore.

Watch for some of the old timers and newcomers begin to make a move for the frontrunner slot for the 2028 election. I doubt MAGA as a brand will be front and center because that was truly Trump's brand. He'll try to wield influence from the sideline but it won't be nearly as formidable as when he was in office or a candidate for office.

MTG won't be relevant because she was always bat**** crazy. She made the mistake of challenging Trump head-on while he was still in his power alley.

Dear Diary, these are the things I really really hope happen because I will then be validated in my eternal hatred of Trump and all those who said I had TDS.

For my next trick, I will predict that magically the Dem party returns to Bill Clinton days and jettison all this nonsense on trannies, illegals, and from the river to the sea. Just you wait.

Lol, keep living in your fantasy world where anybody who says anything potentially offensive to Dear Leader means they hate Trump... making you the sole defender saving mankind from all those infected with TDS!

I'm a happy person. I don't spend all day -- every day -- on a message board attacking anything and anyone that says something I don't like about a political person. As for the cliches, you bring up TDS in just about every post, so you get the award for over-used cliches, hands down.

What I do like is to have a discussion on political topics with people who aren't thin-skinned. So do me a favor, if you want to debate a topic, let's do it. But spare me the childish antics of TDS, you hate life, etc. Keep those opinions to yourself as they have nothing to do with discussing a political topic. Thank you.

Take your own advice and maybe we would have some of those discussions. There are enough people on here who lambast Trump if the collar on his jacket is folded and his tie is crooked. So yes, I am going to defend Trump when I think the attacks are baseless or unfair.

Your assessment of the midterms and the "lame duck" period read as if Jessica Tarlov wrote them for you. And you incessantly hap back with "dear leader" crap. So yea, let's have a discussion I am all for it. But when you start with your dear leader crap I am going to end it with TDS.

You started that exchange with TDS and insults. Go back and look at it. I wasn't even talking to you, and you start out with the insults. There was no Dear Leader response until after that. Step back from the edge a bit.

Constructive dialogue with you is impossible, and I'm not going to stoop to the level you keep trying to draw me into. So I'm going to use that wonderful "ignore" feature that TexAgs provides to stay out of the gutter. Later.

How many of the broken clock, she's crazy people in this thread were 100% behind a year ago?

I'm as conservative and backing of the admin as it gets, but this broad has been nuts from the outset and got a ton of praise on this board before the "change of heart" for what I mostly think is staying in the news/financial reasons.

Same stuff with Elon, most knew that was going to be a match made in heaven until it wasn't and they'd turn on each other. When Elon flipped, he soon took heat here. Then he moved back on board and all was forgiven.

I'm at a point where it feels like you are ride or die trump with half this board, or you're the enemy. Guys, there's so much nuance and Trump has none personally. He is who he is and that's why we most of us voted for him. But we can all also say he's a train wreck in his own right.

The "get out of your own way" to get **** done is completely lost on Trump. I wish it wasn't, he'd reach even higher levels of support that I still give him.

That is Trump's approach, and his hardcore cheerleaders mimic it. It's one of the things I won't miss when the Trump era is over.

But he was clearly better than the dreadful alternative of Kamala, so we get past the frustrating self-forced errors and celebrate the positives which outweigh the negatives.

As for MTG, yeah she was crazy from the outset and destined to implode. Unhinged even.

Folks like to say that Trump holds grudges. His VP is JD Vance. His SoS is Marco Rubio. I don't think I need any more evidence to prove that he's willing to extend grace when folks are willing to get on board. And I don't think that's a bad thing.

Making your opponents your dancing puppets is not grace. Trump has zero support for their former personas.

Who knows the long term impact to Vance or Rubio for stepping up to the MAGA water carrier roles but the only reason they are there is to be yes men gimps. Maybe that pays off in future roles? Time will tell.

I dont disagree with this...but regarding a very small minority of people.

I think this tribalism plagues the country. We see it playing out in real time (even though the two extremes have shown to act very differently).

Like you (I assume), I'd much rather have a fair discussion, and call out any politician when they're making good decisions and when they're making bad decisions.

But two things I've noticed:
1. Aside from the few exceptions, this board already displays a lot of that. For example, there are lots of 'good Trump' and 'bad Trump' comments, almost daily, depending on what he says/does.
2. Sometimes I'm critical of Trump, sometimes I'm not. But I hate the obsession some have with just calling everyone MAGA, just because they disagree. I'm not MAGA and have no idea what that even means (no one does). But people just dismiss a conversation because "MAGA". That's ironically cultish behavior in and of itself.

I do agree there are some posters who inexplicably ride or die with Trump, regardless of what he says/does. But I think that's few and far between...just a vocal minority. But I'd suggest we all discuss the merits of the conversation, rather than assigning labels. Accusing posters of MAGA/Cult...it just fans the flames of the very problem you're intending to point out.

And I'll also say this, I think some of it's a defense mechanism. Few want to go back to the days of topless trans on the WH lawn, genital mutilation of minors, openly funding billions upon billions in fraud, open borders, etc. So people tend to throw another brick on the wall, if the administration, who helped end a lot of this, are criticized...even if the criticism is deserved.

(not accusing you of this...it goes both ways)

Agree. The powers that be love that 2 sides are fighting so hard against each other. Identity politics allow for both sides to have a base that blindly stands in line no matter what. If we are fighting against each other it takes away from how terrible of a job they are doing.

Yep. Kind of goes along with my point. No need to choose sides and pick one or the other.

But if we're having a discussion about the two: There have always been athletics/events at the WH. Tennis, Swimming, Basketball, football, bowling, etc...all played on the grounds.

Athletic displays are a bit different than demonstrations of topless trans.

But being ok with the UFC, just because it's spearheaded by Trump is dumb. Being against it just because it's Trump, is dumb.

Trump should have picked a cabinet that would challenge his every decision and undermine him when they disagreed!

Yea, he tried that before.

And the VP is sort of designed to be the "yes man" and to not just carry the water but to carry the excrement when necessary.

Rubio seems to be just fine standing on his own. Hell, he has taken over so many things there are viral memes about it.

You cannot have a balance conversation when one side is very, very active in their criticism of anything Trump.

It is playing active defense, not to be confused with what most people think of as a defense mechanism which would indicate passiveness.

I have said and will continue to say I will defend Trump and his policies when I agree with him, which is usually the case. Not always, but usually.

I have also preached on the misuse and somewhat meaningless designations of R and D, conservative, liberal, libertarian, etc. 55% if posters on f16 have a poor concept of what those things mean. Another 40% think in those left vs right in absolutes.

I could logon and join the cabal to hate on Trump because his flatulence was particularly active on a given day, but the TDSed remained motivated enough and engaged enough to cover that side that it helps to present the other side, even though it results in the cult / dear leader / get paid to post / Trump wouldn't piss on you if you were on fire nonsense.

And the left has MAD responsibility when it comes to these tactics. You cannot take a high road when the low brows keep punching you in the nuts from the gutters they live in.

Unless I am misremembering, Trump campaigned on an end to endless foreign wars, wherein we stay in country for years at a time with no discernible goals and no exit strategy.

The only warlike actions he has taken have been incredibly decisive, and overwhelmingly violent wherby we punch our adversary in the mouth, accomplish our stated goal with clarity, and leave.

I think there's a significant difference.

I'm too lazy to go dig up all the video footage, but I'm sure there's plenty of it to prove this point.

There are too many bad actors in the world to expect the world's only superpower to never have to use its military might keep them in check.
