Reported gun on campus. Hopefully just a false alarm as I have a niece and nephew on that campus.

Can we go back to this kind of thing? Random kid brings his dad's gun to campus and gets found out almost immediately, then gets suspended for a few days?

Probably a lot more than get suspended for a few days. Probably alternative school for the rest of the year + another year possibly.

This. You bring a gun to school, then they move you to an alternative campus for a long damn time. At a minimum. This isn't the 80's or 90's anymore.

When I was in 5th grade a kid got shot in the arm right in front of the school building while helping raise the flag. They gathered is all up and did a complete attendance inside and waited until the authorities outside secured the scene and finished their investigation outside while we got an unplanned. Lesson on school safety procedures for a couple of hours, then we all went right back to classes the rest of the day.

By middle school kids know right from wrong. Bringing a weapon should be immediate expulsion for 365 days.
