  • President Trump's announcement nominating Kevin Warsh, a former Federal Reserve Governor (2006-2011), as the next Fed Chair to succeed Jerome Powell, highlighting Warsh's extensive economic policy experience from roles in the Bush White House and Morgan Stanley.
  • Warsh, who became the youngest Fed Governor at age 35, is known for advocating monetary policy reforms, including a 2021 report adopted by the Bank of England, and his selection signals Trump's preference for a familiar figure with hawkish leanings on inflation amid ongoing economic debates.
  • Early market reactions show Wall Street futures declining slightly on the news, with analysts viewing Warsh as a moderate pick likely to accelerate interest rate easing, potentially boosting growth but raising concerns over sustained inflation control.

This guy is probably better than Jerome and can't wait to read the leftist talking points.

Bring on the inflation! The last vote was 10-2 to hold rates, so hopefully wiser folks continue to prevail.

You can expect more of this... hold on to your pocket books:

Quote:

BREAKING: December PPI inflation comes in at 3.0%, above expectations of 2.7%.

Core PPI inflation unexpectedly RISES to 3.3%, above expectations of 2.9%.

Warsh is good but this was a mollifying pick with respect to "Fed Independence" primarily.

The blue bloods on the FOMC would have lost their ivory tower minds if Trump picked a Fed outsider.

Knowing the left these days and their nazi fetish, they equate him to Hjalmar Schact or Walther Funk.

We will see if he pushes for the immediate 2 point cut that Trump wants.

Trump wants the Fed Chair to reach out to him before making policy decisions, wonder if this guy will.

Im afraid the cuts will start rolling in by EOY. The masses will cheer the "bump" and then remained baffled why inflation starts to skyrocket.

Maybe we'll get those 2000$ Trump checks about the same time and really kick it all into turbo mode ...again...

It's splitting hairs but the Fed Chair doesn't make interest rate policy decisions. The chair of the FOMC is the lead man there. Traditionally, the Fed Chair assumes the role as the chair of the FOMC committee but that is just tradition and not necessarily fate.

The board will elect Warsh as FOMC chair...so at some point your question is absolutely pertinent. If Trump had nominated Miran, for example, I'd say the chances would have been much higher that Miran would have been Fed Chair and Powell continued his role as FOMC chair up until his term ended in 2028.
