For those of you who follow Nick Freitas on Youtube, he put out a video today criticizing some of the worst Republicans in the US House based on Heritage Action calculations. To be fair to Reps in toss-up districts, he limited the discussion to Republicans in extremely safe, red districts.

For those of you who do not know Nick Freitas, he is a Republican representative in the Virginia Assembly and presents some of the best critiques of current political discussions by a politician that I have seen. He is the epitome of "the common man" in my eyes.

Texas's very own Tony Gonzales get a shout out at the 38:25 mark if anyone wants to just skip to that portion of the video.

I'll be voting, yet again, against Tony in the primary. His primary battles have been pretty close. Just need a few more republican voters in district 23 to vote against him and we can be rid of the moderate.

If just one of the TX-21 contenders would primary that idiot instead we'd all be better off.

He won't be. Already too ingrained in his lil gerrymandered kingdom.

F'ing. Term. Limits. We need them like two generations ago.

I may not get to your hour long video, OP, but I'm guessing my rep Dan Crenshaw is not mentioned?

I think he'll finally have a primary challenger with some name recognition and some financial backing in Steve Toth, but I've heard from some people into local politics here that he could be worse in some ways.

I bet Dan doesn't raise any flags from the Heritage foundation because he does vote very conservatively on the Hill. ...but he's a winey dufus, kind of a jerk, he stood with MSM and democrats on the highly interfered with and mass-mailed in sham of an election in 2020, he wasn't very vocal or showing any leadership on the open border during Biden, and his love fest for the corrupt state of Ukraine and forever warring was more important to him than the border.. He has certainly rubbed people the wrong way enough.

Say it louder for those in the back. 1 term for senate, 3 terms for Congress. Won't ever happen, but a man can dream.

Voting record not very good especially 2023-2024 (62%). Better than the 4 guys noted in the linked interview overall but still not good. Not my district .

I watched the whole video but you can get the gist of it on <15 mins. It brought up some very interesting strategic points that I had not thought a lot about

Term limits would more than likely make the voting records of representatives in these "safehold districts" worse because the Reps in those districts will feel the need to vote yes (aka the Charlie Wilson syndrome) more often because of the limited time they have to scratch each other's backs.

Age limits, on the other hand, are severally needed. While this limitation may also suffer from a similar issue, it's doubtful the impact will be as abundant. And if you consider it, death is a form of age limit, but I'd rather see a Rep be forced to leave at 65 or 70 alive instead of a mentally inept 90+ year old being wheeled out in a coffin.
