He roasted the Dems. He is extremely intelligent on so many topics. Could easily see him as next POTUS.
Dems have nobody even close to his level. Glad he's Secretary of State.

I agree he is very incisive and well spoken. He is showing real potential.

He was masterful. He made the Democrats look like the fools they truly are.

I love his acrid responses. He will be a contender in 28. He's gone harder on immigration now. I hope that's a real change.

He's come a long way since he was neutered on live tv during that post Florida school shooting round table.

Damn...

He was great there...

He has so much more patience than I do...

I watched the whole thing. The dems were mostly upset they were not informed of the actions in Venezuela, not that we did those actions. The majority of the dems on the committee applauded ousting Maduro with many of them, including repubs, saying we didn't commit to a strong enough regime change - they don't like that we left Delcy in charge. Rubio's response to this was essentially wait and see what happens. Everyone on the Senate Foreign Relations committee are cut from the same cloth and they generally want the same outcomes.

And yes, Duckworth is still an idiot.

I watched most of this today too - he was awesome!

I still think Vance is the smartest person with way more showmanship than Rubio. Although admittedly I think Rubio would make the best president. I just don't think he's likable enough.

Rubio smoked all of them. By far the brightest spot in the last 20 years of federal govt.

Id vote for him tomorrow if he were to run

The dems were playing games and rubio wasnt having it. Being a former senator who sat on that committee its clear he fully understands how the game is played and just straight rejects participating in it.

I'd be very happy with either. Nice to have 3 good choices

What I listened too, he was very patient and professional.

I would have had a very hard time not calling them out for grandstanding, blovating, and demonstrating extreme hypocrisy.

Yea the dems were playing politics. It is what they do best.

It seemed all the senators were in favor of the op though, besides Rand Paul. It also seems pretty evident now, that we are reprioritizing our security and geopolitical goals. It appears globalism in its current form is finally dying.

I also found it amusing all the dems really wanted NATO reassurances which makes sense given who funds them and who they fund. I love that we're making NATO finally step up and stop sucking off the tit. They have been paying nothing for security while demanding we increase our spending to protect them, its disgusting, not to mention NATO countries are trying to come after American companies with what amounts to wanton violence because they don't have a first amendment. I think NATO is going to be much different in the years to come. And I think the EU is on a horrible, quickly descending, path due to terrible security, immigration and energy policies.

My favorite was the peace board talk...

Dem- trump is starting to peace board to usurp the the un

Rubio- the peace committee is a un approved organization

Dem- yeah, but its going to take the place of the un

Rubio- [side eye]- the UN Security Council Resolution 2803 was passed through the un, establishing the legitimacy of this board

Also, the dems couldn't seem to comprehend that nato isnt in a position to really back the usa up on anything, even if they wanted to. Rubio tried to spell it out for them but they just wouldnt understand.

Reminds me of the Tommy boy guarantee scene

Vance is Vp. He'll be the nominee with Rubio as his vp for a long term lockup.

Id rather not have rubio as vp. If he cant be president, keep him where he is

Go get DeSantis or a number of other good vp candidates

Rubio could have played back to them the UN Secretary's own comments from two days ago that Europe and NATO can't survive without the US.

Thread title had me thinking about pitchers for the LA Dodgers.

And yes, Rubio was a masterclass today. He might as well took one of legs off and beat her with it,

I disagree 100%. Rubio is a pit bull but he doesn't have the IT factor to be viewed as a true leader. Vance has IT. Sarah Huckabee has IT. Rubio miiight be a great VP but that's his ceiling.

Rubio has always been great on his feet in settings like this. Or simply just debating.

What's different now is that he's in a job that fully plays to his strengths that gets him a lot of airtime, so more people are getting exposure to that strength of his.

Nah, it's Vance's and not even close. Would love Rubio and DeSantis to play major roles though.

I thought Rubio would be Supreme Leader of the Spanish Americas. Vance can be Supreme Leader of the English, French and Portuguese Americas. Both will report to Supreme Leader Emeritus of Americas.

I'd say sit this one out, madam, but your incompetence on the battlefield, as both a DEI hire and a nepo-baby is the reason you're in that chair.

What are the names of the men you nearly got killed, again?

(Also, you're married… why do you continue to use your daddy's name for clout? He's surely not the first officer to get a lady in Bangkok pregnant)
