We are also a nation of laws. Regardless if you disagree with said law, if an enforcement officer of said laws orders you to stop, there's a requirement to follow those orders.

Deciding that your personal objection allows you to use deadly force to stop enforcement of law is just a stupid game that will win stupid prizes.

We are a nation of laws and these protesters are wrong. They ARE NOT part of the solution.

I don't believe for a second that Good was trying to use lethal force; she freaked out and tried to get away so she didn't have to face the consequences.

I don't blame the agent for shooting in that situation. Good put herself in that situation so she gets the blame. The results are tragic for her and her family and the officer.

As the OP says, we value life in the west. Celebrating her death is wrong. Not saying you are, but too many people are.

Ironic that her hitting him in the way she did resulted in his body being bent over the hood, arms outstretched on the hood holding his arm up to fire into the windshield. He might not have even intended to fire but the impact caused him to tense and he shot at close range through the windshield.

This is who the mayor, governor and the activists in Minnesota are protecting and impeding officers from taking into custody.

This should be displayed on billboards across Minnesota, broadcast on all local news channels, played in front of the state legislature, Senate and House of Representatives.

The officer put himself in harms way when he approached the vehicle from the front during an arrest. Police are supposed to approach from the SIDE.

Then, when Rene tried to drive away, she turned her steering to point her wheels AWAY from the officer, which is clearly visible from the officer's cellphone video.

The officer sees this and fires several shots anyway, and continues to shoot when he is at the side of the vehicle.

He was approaching the vehicle from the side.
She backed up with the wheels pointed left.
She then turned the wheels straight putting the officer directly in front of the vehicle, stepped on the accelerator causing the tires to spin out.
As the vehicle lunged forward as she hit him.
The officer points his pistol at her, she sees the gun & turns the wheels to the right.
The officer fires through the front windshield.
As she dives by he fires 2 more times through the drivers side window in order to neutralize the threat to other officers.

Your whole take is just weird. None of this is on ICE. Not a single, little bit.

My take isn't weird at all . I don't want it to happen more, and because the end-result is exactly what our opposition command was hoping for (that is an american citizen's death by an ice agent's gun) we should do things better, to avoid that. It's strategy. I want us to do better going forward.
And then there's the matter of human life...

So, I'm just on the wrong thread.

Why do say on the wrong thread? Everyone is entitled to voice their opinion and others to make counter points. Just ignore the ad hominems if they occur.

Or more likely they'll change tactics and claim it was his fault she hit him and say they never claimed she didn't hit him

Now that I have seen the newest higher resolution video in slow-motion, I think the first shot was more involuntary as he tensed while hit by her vehicle. As such, he couldn't be sure he had neutralized the threat she posed to him or others, thus he fired again in rapid succession. But once her vehicle was past him, he stopped. Not even her vehicle, just the driver's window was past him. He did not shoot into the back seat where the dog was, for instance.

Tell me about it. Legal analysis leaves feelings out of the equation but some people just lack the skill, control, ability or whatever one chooses to call it from being objective.

Posters always get upset when I say this but concepts of justice and the actual law are not linked arm in arm. The law can easily result in what is an injustice but it is the law. Justice is the aspiration but not always the result. It is what it is.

BUT judges making crap remedies up out of whole cloth just to attempt to "rectify" that end result into what they consider to be a more "just" remedy cause more distrust in the courts as the rule of law is thrown out of the window.

Justice Gorsuch said it best (paraphrasing) "any judge who personally agrees with every decision they make, is a bad judge." That's just the way the law works.

Agreed. The facts show that Good tried to accelerate @ the officer, hit him then turned the wheels to turn right. If not for the icy road the officer would have been seriously injured or killed.

I remember back in the 90s listening to Rush Limbaugh go on and on about how, if we allowed this to continue, the U.S. would one day be a "papers, please" country. This was in the wake of Waco and Ruby Ridge and Janet Reno. I thought "Oh, Rush ... there you go again, being so melodramatic." Turns out he was right about that but he thought it would be the democrats who would be doing it.

What year was that Pilot? I have a 2006. Got it in 2017. The tires have routinely spun out with slight accelerator pressure from complete stops. The slightest amount of rain makes it worse. I've asked many mechanics about it, but none of them have ever found a solution.

In case anyone still thinks this woman was Mother Theresa out tending to the poor, new video evidence indicates otherwise.

This video shows she was actively blocking the road, impeding federal agents performing their duties, and then endangered an officer trying to flee.

She deserved to die.

I've seen many leftist excusing her activism calling it her civic duty to resist ICE.

Laughably stupid and dangerous. Her duty was to get home to her kids safe. Her civic duty if she doesn't like what's happening is to go to the ballot box and vote or run for office herself. If she must protest, her duty is to stand on the curb and hold a sign and make a few chants.

Its not any of this leftist horde's civic duty to block streets with their cars, pelt ICE with rocks/bricks/snowballs, impede or try to warn the targets of ICE.

ShippedWreckedCrew provided a very comprehensive article that elucidates the perspective of ICE agent Jonathan Ross' defense. Renee Nicole Good and her wife Rebecca should have been staying home and taking care of their 3 children instead of participating in this protest. Rebecca Good even admitted to making her wife go there. After an ICE agent asked Good to step out of her vehicle, she drove off, already disobeying a lawful order. Then, she drove directly into another ICE agent. Rebecca Good even tried to agitate the cops by telling him they will be coming for them later and said, "Drive Baby Drive" just before the ICE agents fired their shots. Yet, the Democrats insist that ICE murdered a US Citizen. They blame the presence of federal immigration enforcement agents for the chaos that they caused with their "Gestapo/Nazi" rhetoric about ICE and hatred for President Trump.

Homeland Security said the same ICE officer who shot Good was previously dragged by a car in June while trying to arrest Roberto Carlos Muñoz-Guatemala, a Guatemalan citizen convicted of felony sex offenses, leaving him with deep cuts that required 33 stitches. The name of the ICE deportation officer associated with that dragging is more-than-10-year veteran Jonathan Ross, according to court documents.

Trying to flee is evading arrest but two things can be true at the same time. Irrespective of her intent, while attempting to flee, she put an officer's life in danger. She wasn't shot for the former, she was shot due to the latter.
