Brave browser takes care of most of my ad problems without having to configure other 3rd party add-ons. The only downside to skipping ads is that the YouTube channels I enjoy don't get any revenue for them, or at least I believe that to be the case.

It's a grandfathered rate from I think 2012. I'm honestly very surprised Google is still honoring it. I imagine there aren't that many of us still on it, but I'll keep paying until they kick me off.

Youtube has progressively gotten worse since the ad-pocalypse, but I still watch way more content there than any other streaming platform. At least I can choose my own adventure and avoid being force fed narratives in any of the "scripted" garbage available today.
