Well I had actually been trying to give the woman the benefit of the doubt that she did not see the officer in front and did not realize she was accelerating towards him (still justified self defense in my opinion).... but she clearly knew he was there and was clearly running from federal agents.

Oh... and he definitely got hit.

His actually being hit is hindsight and not relevant in a use of force analysis. However, the fact that he was hit supports the reasonableness of his perception of imminent death or serious bodily injury.

I think she panicked and was trying to leave. But it doesn't matter. She accelerated while the officer was in front of her vehicle and she could plainly see him. Officer had every right to be scared for his life and defend himself
