There's the Battle of the Sexes going on in tennis right now. Women's World No 1 Aryna Sabalenka vs Men's No 600 Nick Kyrgios.



Sabalenka is at her tennis peak right now and Kyrgios hasn't played regularly in 3 years and has been injured a lot.

The reason this is political is because it will take on a political color and based on the result of this match, people will start to push recommendations one side or the other. Billie Jean King played a 55 year old Bobby Riggs in the early 70s and beat him and then made it a big win for feminism. Of course, no one brought up the fact that Riggs won Wimbledon in 1939 before King was even born.

If people want to compare the sexes, then go for it. But why have DEI-like rules that favor women? Look at the court, it's a joke! The logic is that women are 9% slower than men so the male gets 9% less area to hit into. There are some other rules that favor Sabalenka.



If the man wins, nothing will happen.
If the woman wins, they will demand for more pay for women because this match "proves" women can beat men.

If the match is all in fun, then it is fine but I am curious to see what the implications are going to be. I think this match is fixed so it seems competitive. It will never be a blow-out. This will be a 3 setter so as to not embarrass Sabalenka.

My wife is a tennis nut so we are watching.

Kyrgios is a hot head lunatic, but when he's at his best he's an incredible player. When he's not at his best, he's a ****show.

If he plays to 80% of what he's capable, he would kill her. They are currently tied so it remains to be seen which Kyrgios we will ultimately see.

There should be no contest if Nick is trying. Just holding serve alone would be a gimme with the superior firepower a man has.

Of this being Kyrgios he might lose just for the hell of it.

What will they net from this?

This 9% smaller court is ridiculous and gives the chick an unreal advantage. Any shot she puts down the line, his only option is to hit the ball back towards the court (the other player) rather than being able to hit it right back down the line. That 9% reduction is probably a 30-40% advantage to the female player.

That court is insane.

...but I will say that Women's Tennis is a racket.

Why would the top women's player subject herself to this? Can you really be the world's best female player without any competitive spirit? That court is an absolute joke.

When I was a kid and my dad was teaching me to play chess he'd let me pick one of his pieces to take at the start of the game to even things out. This chick is a child learning to play tennis in comparison to the 600th ranked male player

This is ridiculous- let's prove the sexes are equal by slanting the playing field in favor of one.

Two tennis stories- in the 80's or 90's #1 player in the world Steffi Graf played Luis Ruette of TCU who was the #1 college player at the time. He smoked her. In a similar vane i was ranked around 100 in the state in singles and one of my high school teammates was the #3 tennis player on the girls side. I never lost a set to her and she ended up winning a national title at tu. She was a fantastic player. I know, cool starry bra.

If you're applying a handicap to a man vs woman game, isn't that literally admitting that they aren't as good?

Kyrgios is No 670 or something, and not playing regularly. Imagine if she played No 1 Jannik Sinner with same rules. My o my. Why even talk about being on par? Kygrios thrashes her and now says how hard it was to win. "Hard fought battle".

The Riggs/King match is more well known, but that one only happened because Riggs smoked the #1 women's player at the time a couple months earlier.

Gonna need a smaller women's half court.

to make it fair they should find the 600th best player who is 15.

men are more physical creatures then women. sorry if you can't accept that take it uo with God if you have a problem.

Yeah, you aren't. He was as high as 11 in 2022. He's currently ranked this low because he hasn't been playing competitively since 2022.
