In June, President Donald Trump's two older sons held an event at Trump Tower where they touted a new made-in-the-USA mobile phone with an American flag on its back, plus a new wireless service called Trump Mobile.

The phone was announced on the 10th anniversary of Trump's presidential campaign launch and was the Trump brand's first foray into mobile products and services. According to the initial announcement, the phone was supposed to be released in August.

But three months later, there are no signs that the phone has become a reality.

NBC News placed an order for a T1 phone in August, paying the $100 deposit for the purposes of tracking the $499 phone's development.

After confirming with the credit card company that the transaction was not fraudulent, NBC News received a confirmation email verifying the order.

But the company provided no proactive updates after the order. NBC News made five separate phone calls to the Trump Mobile customer support line between September and November. At one point in October, the call operator promised a specific ship date: Nov. 13.

But since the original announcement, plans appear to be in flux. Quiet edits to the Trump Mobile website suggest that details around the phone's design and production may have changed since it was announced.

The Trump Mobile website has scrubbed any mention of a specific release month, but continues to collect $100 down payments on the promise of availability "later this year."

Neither Trump Mobile nor the Trump Organization responded to NBC News' multiple requests for comment on when the phone would be released and why it's delayed.

When the company announced the phone in June, photos on the website promised a phone featuring an iPhone-like cluster of three cameras on its back.

But in August, Trump Mobile's X account posted, "The wait is almost over!" The post featured a photo of a supposed T1 phone with a completely different design, including more than three rear cameras.










Pretty much on brand for him. Lots of hype, failure to deliver.....

Even I didn't waste $100 on this. My BTW - most all of these are licensing deals. Not all licensing deals work out. Trumps have always put licensing revenue ahead of brand reputation as the brand has shown to be resilient to bad deals. Hell, you could argue any controversy for Trump just creates more value.

Biden and Obama recorded anyone who didn't make it across the border as "deported". It was a completely fictional number in their administrations.

To your point, all else being equal (in this case getting rich in office) then I'll vote for the person that is going to push more of the policy plank that I believe in. Them getting rich is irrelevant to me because it's going to happen regardless.

In this case, it's easily Trump. He's also doing some stupid **** right now which I reserve the right to call out. The difference here being I'm willing and able to call out my side for stupid **** that they do while the left NEVER admits anything wrong that they do.

This is also a good reason why my side has lost over time. We are much more diverse in our various beliefs and apply critical thinking as opposed to the monolithic Democrat Party who has only ever moved left for the past several decades. The only reason the Dems are having some internal issues right now is because the OG Dems finally maxed their policy to the point where they have created a monster and can no longer control it. The younger Dem members are now openly communist and want to sweep aside 250 years of history, purge white people, and start over as a BIPOC led communist state.

Any moron that spends money on anything he, or his family, sells is an idiot, honestly. And I'm as far from a lib as is possible. He's a brilliant marketer (especially in RE), horrible businessman. This isn't on President Trump, though. It's his son(s).

And, again, thinking this was ever coming to fruition is the height of being a ****ing tard.

ETA: remember, this is the same guy that was railing on companies making wares in China and Mexico, all the while his own ties and other Trump stuff was being made in.....you guessed it, China and Mexico.

He's done wonders for immigration enforcement and peace deals, internationally, though.

You do not well understand people here who support Trump nor what MAGAs principles are.

It is nice to see a retread article on Trump phones elicit such moderate concern about Trump's business acumen and the ethics of his family, all with zero examples or evidence.

Tucker Carlson took a deep dive into the shallow end of a pool in order to drive clicks. That's his choice but its not the kind of principles that reflect "MAGA".

And MTG needs professional help. Folks like her, Massie and Randy like to keep **** stirred on their side of the aisle because they know their extremist positions are not reflective of the wider party base.
