I remember there was this "artist" back in the 90s (forget his name) but his signature paintings were shades of white on white canvas. Yes, they were lame as hell but his work was still exhibited in famous art museums. he'd be tarred and feathered today.

Pretty sure that IF Pantone is commenting on white supremacy with their color of the year, it was done as a criticism of it, not in support of it. These are artists and designers influencing these picks after all.
