Has it possibly crossed Rand's one-track, can't see the forest for the trees, single issue, puritanical libertarian brain that...

The requirements for a Coast Guard interdiction and search/inspection are significantly lower than a drone strike?

Do you actually think this administration cares if they kill innocent people in boats unrelated to drugs? Like do you think this would cause some reflection and change in policies/procedures?

Has an innocent person in a drug running boat been killed?

You really hate Trump, hate his supporters and think of them as sheep, or sheeple. Got it.

You think this is comparable to the Russia collusion bull***** What load *****

I dont hate Trump or his supporters. Im just consistent about gov officials misleading the public with false narratives to justify their geopolitical moves against advesaries. Anyone who accepts the obvious repeated BS are sleeple, whether coming from left or right.

Russia Collusion was waaaay worse than this. The left gaslights way more and on much more detrimental issues than the right. Doesn't mean we cant call out current WH narratives or respect the bipartisan points Rand is making. Its a slippery slope with this type of executive action that bypasses congress.

Maybe we can trust Trump to be responsible and effective at improving the US and Vzla situation. But can we trust a democrat with same power? Thats really the root of the issue here.

Seems to be no breaking news after Bradley meeting with House and Senate today. Just confirmation that most of us with logical reasoning skills and an unbiased view concluded a week ago.

https://thehill.com/policy/defense/5634120-navy-adm-denies-hegseth-kill-order/
Quote:

"Admiral Bradley was very clear that he was given no such order, not to give no quarter or to kill them all. He was given an order that, of course, was written down in great detail, as our military always does," Sen. Tom Cotton (R-Ark.), the chair of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, told reporters after the Thursday closed-door, classified briefing with Bradley and the Joint Chiefs of Staff chair, Gen. Dan Caine.

Rep. Jim Himes (Conn.), the senior Democrat on the House Intelligence Committee, gave the same account of Bradley's testimony.

"The admiral confirmed that there had not been a 'kill them all' order, and that there was not an order to 'grant no quarter,'" Himes said on Thursday.

Still, Himes said that he was "deeply" troubled by the Defense Department's attack on Sept. 2, in which the U.S. military conducted four strikes, killing 11 and sinking the boat.

"I reviewed the video, and it's deeply, deeply troubling," Himes said. "The fact is that we killed two people who were in deep distress and had neither the means nor obviously the intent to continue their mission."

yeah, process involves shooting out the engines from a helo using a sniper. Boat stops, boarding team sent over from a US Navy or Coast Guard ship to wrangle up the boat drivers.

Drugs are coming here because there's a market for it. Teach kids to make better life choices and legalize more drugs, and the illicit market will shrink.

Teach kids to make better life choices. LOL.

A) they're kids.
B) you assume kids without dads in black neighborhoods will listen to some white billionaire while they're trying to keep their younger siblings fed.

What evidence is there that legalizing drugs solves the fentanyl problem? This just doesn't make any sense. At all. None.

Gee whiz Representative Himes, would you have that same golly gosh darn attitude if you had a loved on that was poisoned with a counterfeit pill? They have been deemed terrorists, using your own words, on a "mission". Deal with it dumbass.

Why should I believe that Trump gives two ****s about drug trafficking when he has pardoned Larry Hoover, Ross Ulbricht, and Juan Orlando Hernandez?

Those three have trafficked way more drugs to the U.S. than any of these Venezuelan speed boats.

Probably right. He's only doing this to demonstrate his authoritarian might and his hatred of brown people. Much more plausible. Is that your working theory on this?

I would suspect it's to fire up his MAGA base, which from this thread, appears to have worked. Now give us your working theory on why he pardoned the people mentioned above.

Also, do killing narco terrorists poisoning our youth make you sad overall? Or just because Trump has the stones to do it?

I, for one, am shocked that people on this board defend killing innocents solely because Trump and Hegseth said it's ok.

They're not innocent when transporting millions of drugs aboard the ships.

When clinging for their lives to a boat that had been blown up, they were transporting millions of drugs? How could they possibly transport at that point?

How does it feel when your narrative goes poof like a drug running boat in the Caribbean?

Per the briefing, the guys were trying to turn the boat back over and out the drugs back in whilst the radioed fellow narco terrorist in the area to come help them out. By the book attack. BY THE BOOK.

You libs may want to start giving things a 48 hour rule before impeaching Trump and sending Hegseth to Gitmo to make toilet shine.

For the purpose of this mission and its location, the Navy seems to be the appropriate branch of service, no?

Also, can the Coast Guard act on offense? I.e. can they shoot people first and ask questions later?

I honestly have no idea. Not sure if there is some nuance to how our branches of service are delineated.

It's a mix of Coast Guard ships and Navy ships. Coast Guard law enforcement detachments are on the Navy ships and these ships are operating under the CG law enforcement authorities when they board a vessel for inspection / seizure, etc..

Shoot first, ask questions later...USCG will shoot engines out, but don't have the assets to destroy a boat like we are seeing recently. I don't know exactly what platforms are performing these strike missions. I don't believe the Pentagon has acknowledged. CNN claims it's MQ-9 drones.

Sorry to give them a click, but this is informative: https://www.cnn.com/2025/11/11/politics/military-strikes-platforms-caribbean-pacific
