I'll just say we better hope it doesn't backfire. Never underestimate the stupidity of the American populace. We have a permanent underclass of voters who account for 40% of the electorate. They will vote Democrat almost no matter what. Then you have to factor the independents who have no backbone and believe in nothing except what they are feeling in the moment and vote accordingly. Worse, you have white females who careen about in the voting booth and do what their Chardonnay and anti-depressant meds tell them to do.

If she runs for Senate, then she will clean up the five big counties in Texas automatically so it will then become if she can appeal to just enough people in the suburb counties to get her over the top. You would think she would not be able to, but you never know. She can talk ghetto to the core urban counties and then talk normal to everyone else and maybe thread the needle.

And I've only cursory followed the mess that is redistricting but it doesn't sound like it's a foregone conclusion she will be redistricted away, anyway.

Obviously, I'm a bit more pessimistic than the rest of you.

The only way a Democrat can even make it close in a statewide election in a deep red state like Texas is to run to the center. Beto did it. Allred tried, but had too much baggage and record. She doesn't have a prayer of doing that. She's not someone who can appeal to that. Or even has it in her.

AOCs rise isn't due to republicans giving her oxygen as much as it is the idiot left and their lurch to Marxism, she's aligned herself as the heir apparent with Bernie who was wildly popular and should have won two Dem primaries, Mamdanis rise in NYC and her alignment has given her another bump. Socialist populism unfortunately is on the rise, remains to be seen if it can hold up in a general election but they don't seem to have issues with getting people motivated to go vote.

Crockett is capitalizing on this as well but her overtly patronizing ratchet ghetto queen facade is not going to play as well nationally in my opinion. But people are stupid, shallow, and lib white guilt is a real thing

Its highly probable that this is the most Beta male that Texas politics has ever produced...what a complete loser. I vividly remember his stunt in Uvalde and Abbott just stopped and let him completely embarrass himself in front of everyone as he thought that was the perfect place to virtue signal, while people were grieving the loss of children in a small community and trying to understand why their local police completely chickened out. Abbott knew that his opponent had just committed the ultimate self-owning error and just let him talk. That thing as over before it began.
