I think that would be fair to the employees let go. Then we will have accomplished a hige campaign promise in shrinking the government. Next should be passing a reduced budget instead of CRs for Biden-era spending.

Well that sucks. I mean, when it comes to congress, the only thing they can guarantee is being useless.
How about we let this drag on through April 15th and see what parts we don't actually miss...then keep the value added parts of government and 86 the rest.

Like they have done for everything but have usually overstepped their authority. They have received 60 day RIF notices when they were let go. The 60th day is Nov 29th.
Hoping that real people with families to support, get laid off (right before the holidays no less) is a pretty sad commentary on where we are as a country.

No, targeted layoffs. Non essential employees. Air traffic controllers have been working and haven't received any layoff notices.

Don't most libs/dems hate the USA?
I don't think anyone wishes anything bad for government employees but most realize government employees are likely the least productive workers in the country and account for an inordinate amount of taxpayer money.

We are hoping that the size of the government decreases and the public sector is only compromised of people essential to a functioning government. If a layoff causes you financial ruin because you failed to manage your money and save, that's not on me. Damn near every person I know in the private sector has been laid off at one point or another and I can't name one that it caused financial ruin.

Amen. Mass layoffs then hire back the ones that are actually productive. Make them all reapply for their jobs while we have adults making hiring decisions.
