This is 100% correct.

Also, the problem is society has killed all avenues for men to excel. At least it has made it much much harder. Women get into top schools with much lower grades. If grades are the same, they get into many more top schools than men. Jobs? They get into top companies because of DEI. I used to work with a very nice woman who was a good person but a terrible project manager. She got laid off from the company. Where did she land up? Apple! I was shocked. But that is how it is.

So these women being hypergamous, want men who are even higher in status. The count of those men is reducing because of unfair practices so all women end up fighting for the few men are exceptional and can beat the unfair system.

Sad state of affairs. Started with old rich men simping for feminine validation.

Solution? Stop all boosts and freebies to women. Completely. Let them compete with men. If they lose they lose. That is when they will know where their status really us and be more realistic about the men they go for.

Another thing hearing from that age group is some genuine concern about Bat crazy factor. Fear of "Me Too" snares and accusations. Currently (yes because of social media) they are so "up to date" with those in their peer group they know how many are just crazy left, erratic, and seeking a mark of some kind. Many are getting used as "Friends" and just not anything else developing. They actually are groups of boys and girls but they just hang out as a group and this also deters other prospects.

It sounds positively nightmarish. But in general, it should be underestimated how to hear it, even some of the more normal ones have a strong `left marination' because of school.

As a father of a daughter in this age group, I am very inclined to believe it.

I would believe it if it were stated as "approached a woman with a romantic pursuit in mind", but maybe not just as friends or peers.

I have a D group with 4 HS Senior boys and two of them have never asked a girl on a date or told them they were interested. They are scared of girls in a romantic context. Neither one of them is a "sit in mom's basement" type.

ETA this is the natural result of unnecessarily demonizing men and unrealistically inflating women in society. Boys think being a boy is bad and every 2 thinks they're a freaking 10.

I'll add another data point. My oldest is 14, a cheerleader, and one other most popular 3 or 4 girls in her grade.

She had a boy hitting on her all last year but she wasn't really interested, but this year she has been asked out by 3 guys in the first few months of school. She is dating one of them that went the old school route of befriending her friend to get close until he wasn't too scared to make his move. Nice kid. Good family. The starting shortstop. Tall blonde good looking young man.

We just did Halloween. And they trick or treated in our neighborhood and the four of five most popular dudes showed up to hang with my daughter and her friends. It was obvious that some were pairing off due to interest.

It looked almost identical to what we did as kids. So from my view, the romantic behavior of the popular kids seems unchanged from my childhood.

In case it matters, this is a private school.

There's still "structure" in middle/high school that encourages "normal" dating….it changes drastically in college and certainly post grad

That's an excellent point. Its definitely being demolished at the higher grades, probably because that is where the marination of Marxist thought and empowering feminism is strongest. "Me Too" and the awareness of its risks is probably not so much an issue at middle school. For better or worse, jr. high level has almost no concept of legal risks, haha.

Fair enough. I only have my single data point for comparison but so far it looks pretty normal to me.

I would think boys that flirted, dated, and went to dances in school would have skills translatable to college. I certainly did.

Here in the burbs, high school kids still have girlfriends, still go on dates, go to homecoming where they ask a girl formally, and regularly interact with the opposite sex.

The section of kids not interacting or socializing always existed, they just had offline video games, magazines and a job. Now they have phones, online video games and an online job.

I can second that. It's been about 7-8 years since then, but that's how it was then too. They were either ****s you'd never date seriously or the super entitled type. At times I felt like I was on a job interview for "guy who is going to pay for me and my kids."

Two of my best friends are divorced - one for several years now and one very recently. Both are 52.

Their experiences with women still seem to resemble mine when I was divorced ~20 years ago. Basically, it's shooting fish in a barrel. I never really played around like that because I'm much more of a one woman guy but those two dudes - damn. One of them is a 6'7 blond guy so he can walk into any establishment anywhere on the planet and basically just point at the woman he wants and they will immediately throw their parties at him.

I, for one, am glad to be married and not out there anymore. Sounds like too much work.

I have three girls aged 21, 17 and 14. Of course, the 14-year-old is too young to be dating, but my 17 and 21-yea- olds got out of high school (nearly out of HS for the 17-year-old) without ever having been asked out. Now, I don't have unattractive girls...but it still has not changed the reality of the situation. I do think this takes a toll on young women. Many struggle with self-image issues because they're not validated by young men seeking their companionship.

We were better off without the internet.
