Why not negotiate with her directly? It would further the divide of the Democratic Party. She has to be a nitwit negotiator and will agree to anything to gain the appearance of power. Senate Democrats will have to choose between AOC and Schumer.

What's to negotiate?
That's sort of the problem. There is nothing to negotiate.

Because she is the one holding Schumer's hand to the fire to keep the government shut down in an effort to get the socialist redistribution funding for ObamaCare.

Her seat at the big kids' table.
"We know you and Schumer have differences and he's on the way out. We want you at the negotiating table once the government is open."

I get that, but what is she offering Trump that he needs or wants? Dems are offering nothing. Reopening the government is not a bargaining chip. It's their side who will suffer the most.

We all should want AOC to replace Schumer. She's incredibly stupid. She would get nothing done for New York and have no idea how to help their state. Schumer is a schmuck but he's not stupid. He knows stuff and more importantly, he knows where the bodies are buried. He's like Pelosipowerful and difficult to work with because of their connections to money. AOC is none of that.

All you guys who dismiss AOC as a "nitwit" or "stupid" so what she does doesn't matter are very shortsighted to dismiss her. I used to do that, but now I'm not so sure.
Yes her politics are crazy and she says stupid stuff, but if you look at things she does politically, I'm not so sure she's dumb. For example, she commissioned studies of why folks in her district voted for Trump because a number of her supporters did. A stupid politician wouldn't have done that. For that reason, she is dangerous. She isn't a Lina Hildalgo unfortunately.
She believes that if she is successful in getting the useful idiots to keep giving her more power, she will be living in the palace and running things while the rest of us are begging for gruel from her to survive. And she's right about that.
