i wish the president, no matter what party, could not commute sentences or pardon criminals. There is a justice system, which is sometimes ****ed up, that should operate on its own. Sometimes there are presidents in office (obama, biden, and others) who are sometimes ****ed up as well.

In some places, the system is not working for justice, but maybe you've missed the last four years.

Now that it is a different argument worth its own philosophical roundtable. Could agree with that. No federal judges interfering with Executive branch (or Legislative branch) staffing decisions either. Its clearly not the baliwick. Would trade the WH pardon power for reserving injunction interference to just the SCOTUS. And empowering the SC to reach down and pre-review at will on judicial matters.
