If you didn't know anything about her and heard her speak for the first time you would think she was possible special needs. Seriously, I played that clip of her from the Patel hearing for my wife, who had never heard of her, and she asked me is she was special needs (and my wife sometimes works with special needs teens).

First of Hawaiian isn't an ethnicity any more than a Texan is, but I understand your premise. But to your point she's 100% Japanese and a buddhist. The majority of Japanese adhere to Shintoism, But she's a Buddhist. She was born in Japan. Just be thankful she's never reproduced.
