Everything they are making today sucks.

Best actors are doing projects for streaming services.

Not everything there, there are still some very good movies out there. F1 was fantastic.

But there are some great ones on the streaming services. Especially a lot of the 8 to 10 episode shows including standalone movies.
. So there is one for the theaters.

As I said, best actors are doing stuff for streaming services now.

Have only been to one movie in the past year or two, and it was "ok". But, the ticket prices and concessions are overpriced for a product which is lackluster, at best.

Even streaming service movies look stupid, so...to me...not a saving grace, either.

Hollywood has zero creativity as witnessed by eternally reimagining Superman, Spiderman, etc.

Well I guess I forgot that Reagan didn't take office until January 1981. Probably because I was distracted at seven years old by all the awesome movies we had to see

I was almost 6 and it was the same for me. The movies were the only thing my folks could afford as far as entertainment went. Also there was not much else to much back then. Movies or an Astros game (a friend of the family would give them free tickets fairly often). Here is where I watched movies when I was a kid. It was awesome!

Wife reminded me, while driving past our local cinema, that we hadn't been to a movie since at least last summer. It wasn't a complaint.

They just aren't producing sh** we want to see. Our kids feel the same way.

I do feel bad for the kids. Movies in 70's-90's were amazing. We loved going to the movies as kids, teens, college age. Very American thing to do. But even my kids tell me 80's movies were better.

WOLVERINES!!

Went there many times. Star Wars, Alien, Raiders of the Lost Ark, Smokey and the Bandit II, even The Boogens. Watched most of Alien through my fingers. Had to pee after the critter grabbed Harry Dean Stanton by dropping down on him from the airshaft. Get to the restroom and there is this huge gaping hole in the freaking ceiling. Never did my business as fast as I did that night.

Only movies I've seen at the theater since COVID are blockbuster items that I think require the big screen and sound. Top Gun Maverick, F1, Oppenheimer, etc.

I did go see Nobody 2 because I think they are hilarious, popcorn munching escapism.

There have been plenty more than that over the years. But we can agree to disagree. I just like the theater experience. But I also watch at home as well.

Just got back from seeing The Roses. Popcorn buttering station, Coke Freestyle so I could get caffeine free zero, and reclining seats that I reserved yesterday for excellent viewing without having to get there early. Movie was great and the experience is definitely better. No, the quantity of good movies is not what it once was, but anyone who thinks the theater experience was better 30 years ago is stuck in nostalgia

I love seeing movies in the theaters. But they haven't made any movies that are worth watching.

People have generally lost interest in all the Woke agenda pushing movies and shows, it's no longer hidden, people have read about what their gut has been telling them for a long time. The more woke scenes in movies the less likely people want to spend their money on watching that stuff

The theatre experience ain't all that great anymore. Theaters are just nasty. A couple of buckets of popcorn on the floor, half the soda machines are out or out of order. Rest rooms that could use a Lysol pressure washing. Then you think about the screaming Kids overflowing their Huggies and not to even mention the 2 ton Tina's watching over them with their own leaky depends. You get this nursing home vibe about it real fast. Watching fast tracked movies to the streaming services, from the comfort of your own living room is so much better.

Outside of Top Gun Maverick, the MI and James Bond series, and F1, the quality of films has suuuuucked for the past 5-10 years. Nothing but wokeness, zombies, and the devil.

The dumbest Superman (hell, ANY superhero!) movie of all time.

I get the criticisms for Superman (2025), but let me introduce you to the following:

Superman III
Superman IV: The Quest For Peace (top 3 worst movie of all time for me)

Then let's throw in:
Batman Returns (was not terrible until penguins starting launching rockets off their backs)
Batman Forever
Batman & Robin (another entry in my top 3 worst movie of all time list)

Spider-Man III

It's not a high bar for Superman (2025), but these are far worse than literally anything in the new Superman movie.

Man, this scene gave me nightmares for years:

Much of Hollywood industry may be doing fine still making money off making movies & series for streaming . Multiplexes on the other hand.
