DC being a federal enclave, Trump has authority for that.

He's on much sketchier legal grounds in the states. But does Trump want this political fight with blue states supporting crime and criminals? Sure.

The messaging for Dems is lousy on this.

Channeling my Landman memory from the first season, can Trump troll these guys by just having drills / exercises that should a display of force / act as a patrol?

And at the same time have regional meetings for the FBI, ATF, ICE, etc that includes real world urban training?

Trump is known for the theatrics and a why the hell not attitude.

Locals would have no say and most certainly not have the means to prevent it.

Let the Chicago officials etc. whine and say that their crime rates are down and then use the actual stats against them (if they have not doctored them).

F it, have Trump walkthrough Southside by Obamabad Mosque & Museum and interview some mommas about their thoughts on crime.

Then have him rag on the land seizures, ugly design and poor construction materials of the li try construction. Finish with tour of Trumps residential building.

The next Dem president will then use the same argument to use federal forces to enforce woke/DEI/LGBTQ policies.

Federal government should "stay in its lane". Trump has so far done so, but sending forces to enforce non-migrant or non-federal law without a request from a governor is too far.

Libs showed us during COVID how they will use local police and national guard.

They don't need a precedent to do it again.

And if Trump is supplementing locals to enforce local laws as well as federal LAWS not policies, then he should.

See Colorado and their pronoun police. Yes, it's civil but what if they did a criminal law? Should local PD just be able to do their thing?

At some point the locals have abdicated their duties. Lawlessness. And it needs to be corrected.
