He doesn't have to be white but he has to be a heterosexual male. Idris Elba would be a great Bond although he's a little past his prime to play the role very long.

Stringer Bell era Elba would be great...but he's in his 50's now and he will quickly age out of the role.

Roger Moore was in his late 50's in View to a Kill and it definitely showed. After that they moved on to Timothy Dalton.

He is an incredible actor. His work in Nocturnal Animals was nothing short of elite acting.

I don't think it would bother me personally to have a black Bond. So long as the character is male. Even some of the sexual ambiguity (which they ever so deftly touched on in Sky Fall) doesn't bother me. Bond is a killer who would **** damn near anyone, men or women, to get what he wants/needs for the mission.

As mentioned above, it seems Aaron Taylor Johnson is the odds on favorite, but if they do go with a black actor, my vote goes to Rege-Jean Page. He's still 37, so young enough to carry the role for a decade plus, and some of his roles show he has an edge and isn't just a pretty face.

I read some people that wanted Damson Idris after F1 came out. He's a damn good actor and I like him a lot but don't think he's Bond.


And as mentioned repeatedly, Idris Elba is too old now. If he was the guy, they should have picked him when they selected Craig instead.

Why change Bond to a woman?
Why not just create a brand new female character?

Do you see the trend here? Women don't want to create anything new and take a chance of it being a failure (or a success). They see what men have created being a success, and demand a share of that as that makes them feel they can get the success without the struggle.

Why can't a rich female producer create a new female character and make a movie? If people like it, yay they make money. Else they lose money. I won't be surprised if the usual suspects (rich old white men) allow this nonsense and damage to the JB brand.

They did it in the 60s, right after the success of Goldfinger and a bunch of other Bond knockoffs. It didn't work then either.




There has never been and never will be a successful female spy movie franchise like Bond, and it's not for lack of trying. Dozens of spy/action movies introducing female leads have been produced for decades. Some have been very good. But the box office just isn't there. That's why making Bond female is a bad idea. It will be an expensive flop.

Thonk that's something the militants are missing. Race/gender etc swapping a character is usually fine if the actor/actress significantly improves the movie or storytelling.

Sure. That 110 pound woman with a 24 inch waist just one punch knocked out that 250 pound dude, and kicked the other one through a brick wall. Mmm Kay. That's believable…

Ghostbusters was a perfect example. That movie was objectively AWFUL with an all-female cast and they cried "sexists hate it!"

No, it was a bad movie and it sucked. Many of the same actresses were in Bridesmaids and that movie was funny as s***. No sexists were criticizing that movie. Funny is funny, you can't fake it.

Off topic, but I felt the exact same way when Tom Cruise purchased the Jack Reacher franchise and then insisted on playing Reacher.

I simply wasn't going to watch a Reacher movie where the original 6'5", 250 pound bruiser was actually a 50 year old, 5'7", 170 lb wannabe. I know some folks think they were good movies, but....

Want a black Bond? Start another ******* franchise. It is not true to Fleming's vision. It drives me insane when the woke lefties in Hollyweird feel the need to insert black characters in historical movies, particularly if they are allegedly biographical and historically accurate.
