CDL is a WAY too low barrier to entry job

My son is getting his CDL right now in College Station to drive the busses on campus. This thread reminded me of the hilariousness of that!!

We see it in West Texas a lot. Mainly Cubans…

That works on Muslims.The driver is Sikh. They aren't revulsed by pig any more than other animals.

I was driving in my town many years ago, and ahead of me in my lane was another car. It just stopped abruptly for no reason, nothing in front of it, nothing in the way and middle lane. I almost rear-ended it, I was livid. Then I drove around it to see a scared looking Asian woman driver with an "OMG" bewildered look on her face. I guess something came to her mind and she decided to slam the brakes.

Nobody voted for an invasion.

But they didn't. No one ran on doing this. In fact, they lied about the border while they were doing it.

I have 30 years in the trucking industry and well over 2 million incident free miles driven. This upcoming spring, I'm letting the CDL endorsement drop. As someone with a bit of a health issue and restricted to a 1 year medical card, the amount of medical hoops I have to go through to stay compliant just aren't worth it for me anymore.

All that being said, the fact that these non-domiciled CDLs are being issued like candy to non-English speaking foreigners here on visas or here illegally makes my blood boil.

Try to do the right thing and it's an uphill battle.
Circumvent the legal channels as an outsider and it's easy as pie to get behind the wheel.

It's open season on America's highways.

A couple of years ago a non English speaker in an 18 wheeler melted his brakes west of Denver, drove past runaway truck ramps, and crashed into a line of traffic at full speed, killing 7.

But for some reason we keep handing out the licenses.

I work in the oil industry and deal with truckers all of the time. A large percentage of them are foreigners now. The overall quality of drivers now compared to just 6 or 7 years ago is shockingly bad. Makes me appreciate the few old school drivers that are still left.
