Maurene Comey, the daughter of former FBI director James Comey, was fired Wednesday from her job as a prosecutor in the Manhattan U.S. attorney's office, a Justice Department official confirmed to Fox News.

Comey was informed of her termination on Wednesday by the Executive Office for U.S. Attorneys, the official said.

She worked most recently on the prosecution of Sean "Diddy" Combs and previously prosecuted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and his associate Ghislaine Maxwell.

She was also on the Diddy prosecution team and that has now wrapped up. So firing now makes sense instead of during the trial.

Also, apparently her conviction rate is pretty bad so she's not really a good prosecutor.

There's a difference between family retaliation, and fearing that she will screw stuff up because of the problems between her dad and Trump. Not saying either is the case but who knows.

Doesn't pass the smell test. There's nothing preventing them to assigning her to lower profile cases, unless it's something performance based. So far, we don't have that.

She worked for the office that had a cry fest about taking orders from DoJ, and finally only one of them would sign a motion per guidance from Bondi. That is a level of insubordination that is intolerable, net. Still, I would note she was not in any way 'in charge' of the Diddy litigation and was really a mid-level attorney I think in most respects in the office.

Anyone related to Comey should be kept away from 'Justice' in the US, though. This is akin to having Mao's daughter/son working in the DoJ to me.

Disagree. Her father is an active agent against Trump. He's proven to be a very bad actor. She had to go and if it's purely for retaliation I have no problem with that. All US Attorneys serve at the pleasure of the AG.
