No

They are not Muslim

They are their own thing, an Abrahamic religion, based in Arab culture

They are secretive, and don't allow new converts

So yeah. Whatever that means

The root of all Muslim conflict is the centuries old battle between Shia and Sunni factions. It's a constant undercurrent of contention and conflict. You may be able to negotiate peace and/or cooperation between different countries/people/governments, but the struggle between Shia and Sunni will eventually overtake any external truces and render them useless. It's a constant internal turmoil that varies from simmer to boiling over.

The root is that they want to kill and enslave all those who aren't thinking just like them. They can, in their religion, do all sinful things to overtake others.

DOES BIBLE PROPHECY FORETELL THE DESTRUCTION OF DAMASCUS ...
The Bible prophesies the destruction of Damascus in Isaiah 17 and Jeremiah 49. Specifically, Isaiah 17:1 states, "Behold, Damascus will cease from being a city, and it will be a ruinous heap," according to the Bible Gateway. Jeremiah 49:23-27 also describes the destruction of Damascus, saying, "Therefore her young men shall fall in her streets, and all the men of war shall be silenced in that day,"

I mean if we're going by factual documentation to what the Bible has said will happen against what has happened. It checks out. Those who say it isn't real keep getting debunked as more and more archeological discoveries happen.

I mean hate that there's end times but that is what will happen.

Either way, we don't want them here. Because you know what happens when they get to 30% of the population. Shariah law etc etc.

Yeah, it's not like 80% of Bible prophecy has been debunked fulfilled already.

Yet there are still doubters.

Why would you hate in the "end times"? I'd be perfectly fine with it right now. That's kind of the point of the cross.

Update; this one could have political ramifications.

As for the root cause (Sarah Adams retweeted below, caution, profanity), keep in mind that one of Hamas' big businesses was the captagon/drug trade throughout Europe/Central America, and the Syrians also are big time into it. This is about drug money and control, ultimately, not some religious fanatics alone.

A lot of lies about who/why. It would be nice if we were told the truth by our own government, of course.

They were better off before the civil war and the Middle East was more stable. Blaming the 600k on Assad is dumb because that's what happens in war. We are already seeing mass killings of civilians by the new government and it's only going to get worse

I'm more than a little concerned we have all of the 'wrong' people/policies on Syria right now.

And while jihadist genocide/murders are horrific, this one also isn't just 'an over there problem' as many seem to think.

I had never heard of Captagon before reading your post. Turns out it was worth like $57 billion annually to the Assad regime. No wonder they're fighting a brutal civil war. Probably more like different drug cartels fighting for control of the Captagon drug trade than it is establishing a particular method of government.

It's amazing to me how all of this "religious" violence in the Middle East always turns out to be really about controlling oil money, government power, illicit drug trade, etc. Islam in particular is like custom made to provide a motivation (excuse) to form the fighting forces that wage these wars. In fact, you can argue that islam is, was, and always will be about creating fighting forces that are motivated to die in "jihad" for some leader's nefarious purposes.

Not to wander off topic too far, but that's what makes iran so dangerous IMO. They already have the power and the oil money, but want to end Israel and the entire western world to satisfy their prophesies. They do appear to be truly motivated by religious beliefs which can't be reasoned with.
nortex97
How long do you want to ignore this user?
Yep, they use it both as a business and as a drug for the jihadists. They don't have to pay them much when they are high as a kite of course, and this also helps them fully dehumanize the killing/atrocities.

So it's a real multi-use product they distribute broadly throughout Europe/the Middle East. Not just Hamas, but also Hezbollah, the remnants of forces that were Assad's etc.
Quote:

It hardly matters whether it is Hezbollah itself, or its affiliates, who deal in Captagon; Hezbollah still makes a profit, whether it manufactures and sells the drug on its own, or if it must share part of the profits with others "affiliates" who are involved in the distribution and sale. Hezbollah remains the largest maker by far of this amphetamine, Captagon which, long ago taken off the market for legitimate drugs, has found a new life as an illegal substance.
Quote:

The drug is little known in the United States, but the smugglers have found an eager market closer to home. Captagon users say the drug makes them feel euphoric and energetic, and the stimulant has become enormously popular within the club cultures of several Middle Eastern countries, particularly in the Persian Gulf states. In addition, Islamic State commanders notoriously used Captagon as a morale booster for fighters heading into battle, thus bolstering its reputation as the "jihadi drug."

Captagon is not used just to "feel good" by individual users, but also has been given to the fighters of the Islamic State by its commanders, so that they will feel "euphoric and energetic," which bolsters their fighting spirit. While Shi'a Hezbollah is ideologically the enemy of the uber-Sunni takfiris of the Islamic State, it takes the position that "business is business" and has no qualms about selling drugs, including Captagon, to ISIS, whose members would on other occasions think nothing of decapitating the Shi'a of Hezbollah for being the "worst kind of Infidels."
Quote:

But more recently, trafficking in Captagon appears to be strictly about generating profits, officials say. While Islamic State fighters sometimes sold the drug for cash during the waning days of the group's self-proclaimed caliphate, the making and marketing of Captagon is a costly and sophisticated enterprise that requires dedicated factories as well as extensive networks for moving the drug across international borders.
All the required ingredients currently exist in northwestern Syria, along with paper manufacturers who make giant paper rolls of the type used to hide the tons of Captagon discovered at Salerno, said Armand Chouet, a Paris-based imagery analyst and author of a report that analyzed the movement of the drugs from Syria to Italy's west coast….

I think various African 'fighters' have also used it broadly (Sudan/Somalia/Ethiopia), can't really recall. Islam is just an evil plague that preys on ignorant/stupid people, in the absence of God, imho. The illicit drug trade (as well as human slavery/subjugation) naturally appeals to its adherents.
