Considering James Clyburn praised Newsom while he was in South Carolina this week, I think it's obvious this guy is running and should answer why he's taking private property for his political purposes.

I think it was Rahm Emmanuel that said - Never let a crisis go to waste.

Newsome is doing what libs do. Taking advantage of individuals that were ruined by bad government policy, overregulating them to death, and using the opportunity to take private property and turn it into government owned/subsidized land. It fits their mold perfectly.

And we just thought LA was a ****-hole before. This is going to take it to whole other level.

I'm glad he's doing this. He's torpedoed any chance to win in 2028.

They tried this in North Hollywood and they proved that government low income housing costs about $700k per unit. And that was in NoHo in the late 2010s.

In The Palisades, they'll be lucky if they get 50 units built in the next 5-10 years for $100M.

I'd say good luck with the permitting process but I'm sure it's rules (regulations) for thee not for me (government)

Meanwhile, ICE is removing most of the low income people from LA.

It's fast tracking and prioritizing low income projects in areas where the fires hit. Says it right in the announcement.

Especially liked how the Director of this stated that this will bring climate stability. lol. These brainwashed zealots cant say anything without it somehow improving climate change.

How is it different? They voted to CAUSE their own misery. This wasn't some exceptional disaster that occurred. It is predictable and self inflicted. Texas doesn't need FEMA. Sure, it probably helps long term to restore some things. but we've managed with minimal outside help in past disasters.

What California is doing is voluntary self immolation via leftist politics. They are getting what they wanted.

Texas is getting some of what it wanted too, in the long term. Less federal taxes, less federal regulation, and yes, less federal intervention.

"Affordable housing" is a myth and a liberal land grab.
