So they're coming in on visas, not illegally?

Visa's that can be revoked?

You want visa's completely stopped?
Like most of us who work in tech, he wants the government to stop importing vast amounts of workers who take our jobs and drive down our wages when there is practically zero need. We have plenty of educated US citizens who can fill these roles.
I agree with this. As a prof I taught many international grad students; and as a hiring manager I hired a lot of H1B consultants. They are not generally the cream of the crop compared to Americans, but they are cheap.

Visas are gamed so as to make a mockery of the process and put American IT guys/gals at a real disadvantage.
Worse, the company will hire one as a manager; all they will generally hire is other Indians. The on-shore guys I worked with were all Indian, many of the off-shore were Chinese (or Indian).

I was at a level that meant I didn't have to compete with Visa folks, but it lowered the hiring of qualified Americans substantially at the places I worked and consulted.

So I get Infinity's frustration. I would say "most of us in tech" should be "almost all American tech workers." I'm retired, so don't think there is any way that this opinion is "self-serving".
Should have said something to the DOL. Sounds like a lot of prevailing wage violations were committed.

130,000+ from Mexico on something called BBBCC (Border Crossing Card) (valid for 10 years, can stay up to 30 days at a time)

That could account for more than 15M Mexicans legally in the USA.
Man, that is really interesting and good analysis. On the Border Crossing deal, they call it "Laser Visa or Visa Laser", my understanding/experience is that it is only good for a 72 hour stay at a time in the border areas. Holders can't cross the checkpoints without getting an I94, where they have to be interviewed by CBP agent and provide proof and such of travel plans. Not all are approved to travel into the interior of the US and I have known lots that are denied. Now, the I94 is usually good for 6 months, but it has to be turned in upon exit otherwise it shows as an overstay.

One of the ways prolly hundreds of thousands, if not millions, of illegals stayed or stay in the US is that they get the I94 and a few days later have someone that looks like them turn it in and or cancel it. I have heard of folks getting caught doing this, but know many that have done it successfully.

But those that can get the Laser Visa and figure out a way past the checkpoints have a really easy path, while keeping a valid entry method into the US, to being in the US illegally and under the radar.

The law has a lot of loopholes and avenues that our politicians have left open so Indian companies can game and push people through.

I don't buy the 65k cap, there is something way more than that going on.

We are effed.
Might as well everyone move to India and then join Infosys and then come back here "on project".
I don't blame Microsoft here, I blame our Government for being complicit in r@ping Americans and pretending that it is free markets and open competition.

We need MORE GOVERNMENT in this case.
