Allred tried to change his stripes with his last run and swing to the middle towards the end. Wonder if he will come out of the gate as the Democrat he is or if he plays in the middle from the get go.

If Wesley Hunt runs for Senate, I would vote for him over incumbent John Cornyn and Ken Paxton. I think all of them would beat Colin Alred, Beto O'Rourke, or Joaquin Castro in the general election. A Democrat has not won a statewide election since 1994 and a Senate race in Texas since 1988, and that probably won't change in 2026. Still, we cannot get complacent.

The battle for the Texas Senate seat will be fought in the Republican primary. Whoever wins that will be highly likely to win the general.

Wes Hunt has provided some great soundbites the past couple of years. I think I like him a lot better than his neighboring rep Dan Crenshaw, but I believe those two are best buds and I don't think we know enough about Hunt yet.

The US Senate is different than the House. It's the highest law making body in the land and shouldn't just be a popularity contest that is won without solid experience.

Paxton may have trouble because the left has programmed the low IQ sheeple among the masses that he's committed some crimes that he's been acquitted of, and people get wound up about it, but Pax is also very qualified and has a lot of skins on the wall to be considered for senate if he wants it. I think he'd do a lot of good in the senate and be a major upgrade over Cornyn, as long as they've done the calculus that he would beat an allred or pandejo beto or whatever.
