Elections are when people find out what politicians stand for, and politicians find out what people will fall for.

MAGA needs to expand it's base. America will look just like NYC if we don't.

That's not the worry. The worry is that Trump is a 1 Term President and we don't know if he can translate what he has to a sustained movement. MAGA is the dominant force in the GOP but it is unknown if that continues after Trump and what that looks like. It's the danger of a cult of personality, it's hard to translate it to the next guy. I really hope it does, the Dems have gone completely insane.

If we're going by tradition, Trump is a mixture of conservative, liberal, Republican, and old school Democrat. He's a common sense political populist. He made the GOP find their balls and I think his national movement is here for awhile. We've all doubted the man with good reason. Yet here we are. Watching the most transformative politician in modern history. Pretty wild.

Some of us are not surprised by Trump's greatness.

The GOP told you Trump was a dictator, racist and all the rest of it just like the Democrats did.

I think the 4 year "break" is showing to be a huge advantage for Trump, having those years to recalibrate.

I'm in sales. If I were to be let go for performance, let's say, and 4 years later I was brought back for another swing at things, I can guarantee you with that "time out" that I had to reflect and refocus on what worked and what didn't, it would be a totally different deal 2nd time around.

Trump clearly used that 4 years to do the same, and came out the blocks with a plan, and on fire.

It might be a good idea to welcome voters who are just now figuring this out.

Trump is the president now because the 81 million that voted for Biden in 2020 were not around in 2024 for some reason. Oddly numbers went back to norms in 2024. It's really weird where 20 million people went.

Where does the 20 million number come from?

Biden got 81.2 million votes
Kamala got 75 million votes

Total votes for presidential candidates in 2020: 158 mil
Total votes for presidential candidates in 2024: 155 mil

Definitely not exact numbers lol and probably just counting the number of illegals that came in. It comes from obama getting 69 million in 2008, 65 in 2012, Hillary with all that support getting 65 in 2016. A brain dead dementia patient that stayed in the basement the entire election got 81 million. It's complete horse***** The jump is voting numbers raised exponentially after 2016, that's odd itself when the numbers were pretty consistent from 2000 to 2016. kamala getting 75 million is laughable too and what Trump meant by it to get the country back, the votes have to be enough that the dems can't steal it. They weren't counting* on blacks and Hispanics switching to Trump in the numbers they did. That made it too big to steal.

Vance and DeSantis are not going to appeal to black and Hispanic men the way Trump does. It's going to take someone different to keep this MAGA machine rolling after Trump's term ends.

I think Vance can get there. If Trump's caustic, no hold barred wit is seen as a value to these groups, then Vance is on his way.

I think Desantis is just too much of a nerd to get there. What he's accomplished in Florida is all-time amazing at the state level though. Best governor in the USA.
Desantis converted tons of browns/blacks to the right, in Florida. The idea that "he can't...." isn't supported by facts.

We don't KNOW anything. So many folks want a lead pipe cinch; that's a loser's game. Armor up, keep your mind and morals decent but ready for what comes, depend on your best self and your higher power. Eyes open and don't cower.

I, like everybody else, hope I can measure up.

Doubt we will ever know. I'm not convinced he can scale what he's done nationwide because he doesn't have any huge blue cities to contend with like Texas does, for example.

Well, not anymore.

He converrted the ones there were. Miami-Dade.

Remember, Florida almost was a Gore state. And now, it's solid red.
