The resort is along a 2.5 mile stretch of beach and can host 20,000 visitors. It was completed six years after the target date.

Last month I vacationed in Saudi Arabia and Dubai. Those were great experiences.

I can't imagine North Korea attracting a tourist crowd. First off, you'd need an Asian airline with a good Business/First Class section to bring in anyone with money. If Russians start showing up and making some Instagram videos, they might get a few people.

Although, that chick in the white looked attractive. Isn't that his sister or something?

Like the average North Korean peasant will ever get a chance to go there.

I'm not the most fanatical environmentalist, but launching hundreds of balloons out over the sea doesn't seem like a great idea either.

Yes and no. I don't think it is reasonable to believe you will end up in a vegetative state for stealing a poster like what happened to Otto Warmbier.

That is a frequent comment on NorK cities. They have built huge amounts of infrastructure, and you never see any people. Very dystopian

Coincidentally, had this conversation with the family over dinner the other night. The four of us concurred that a Saudi/Dubai vacation would be quite appealing, followed by a stay in Israel once things calm down.

I can honestly tell you that I would never have imagined just few short years ago that Saudi/Dubai sounded many times better than NYC/LA. But here we are.

This reminds me of the Michael Palin special when he went to North Korea. He was in some airport in one of their "resort" towns. The airport was empty, only the assigned workers. Rest was a ghost town. They didn't even know if a plane was ever gonna show up just to fly him somewhere else.

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I feel like there's some broader issue than lack of water parks limiting tourism to best Korea.

If you can survive splashtown in San Antonio you can totally survive best Korea's water park.

Dubai was actually pretty dope. Although I should definitely learn some Russian before going back.

My Saudi trip was just to my hometown and to Riyadh for a Guns 'N Roses concert.

But yeah, I'd much rather continue to explore the west coast of Saudi and some of their new resorts before heading to NYC again, or even my formerly quiet neighborhood in LA. Of course in LA, most of my friends have moved away, or are deceased.

The only downside in Saudi was no alcohol but... I got caught up in Dubai.

Safe bet that nobody would dare pee in that pool. They might shoot you on mere suspicion
