I think Netanyahu is going to keep going until there is a regime change. He can't really afford not to. He's still facing corruption charges and if he loses, I think he's less likely to get serious punishment if he is finally able to remove Khamenei

In the early 1980s, I remember being at a party in Saudi Arabia and hearing one of our friends from Alaska talk about being on the last 747 out of Esfahan with literally whatever he could carry. He was talking about climbing up a ladder and then the last guy kicked the ladder away and the plane took off.

Mental images similar to the folks hanging onto our transports leaving Afghanistan, or the movie "Argo".

Anyway, that was one of the most bone chilling descriptions I had ever heard.

After we finished up the Trans-Alaska Pipeline in 1977, Fluor could have sent my dad to Esfahan, or South Africa (SASOL), or Venezuela. We had lots of friends who went to each. But thankfully, we wound up in Saudi Arabia.
