Okay. I have a complaint.

I post over 50 memes and receive (at this point) 35 blue stars. Someone posts a thread last night asking where are the Sunday Funnies and his post receives 33 blue stars (at this point). I don't get it. I do all this work and I'm neck and neck with a poster who is looking for my thread. I don't need the stars, but it doesn't make sense to me. The Sunday Funnies should be POTD every Sunday, but it's always a struggle to stay on page 1.

There. I've said it. What are you going to do about it?
I regret I can only give 1 blue star.

Good morning. No theme today, just lots of good stuff for you.

This reminded me when we were watching old black & white movies I convinced my young daughter color didn't exist back then. Had her believing that was why so many movies in the 1940s were black & white.

Great memes

I covet these pants. The shirt is whatever, but I need 2-3 pairs of these pants, so I can wear them multiple times a week.

This is a TA phenomenon that I've also observed. Somebody finds a meaningful topic to post about and spends minutes to hours quoting, editing, linking, and typing out a relevant message to go along with the rest of it - and they might not even get a star. The first couple of posters with a snarky comment will go blue in less time than it took to post the OP. That's why I make it a point to star an OP that I've posted a response to and even star a post that I found worthy of quoting in agreement.

I don't get it either.
It's not just a TA thing, it is a social media phenomenon.

The amount of recognition/response you'll get from something is inversely proportional to how much effort you put into it.

Write a well-resourced post, going in-depth on a topic you have some subject matter expertise on, maybe spend a few hours creating your post and ensure coherence and legibility? 3 stars, maybe one reply.

Write a one sentence response with barely any thought put into it, maybe 5 seconds of effort, if that? 234 stars, POTD, reply might go viral.

It is the same thing with posts on other forums and tweets on Twitter.

A) It was expensive for movie making machines when they were churning out movies in month or less.
B) 1939 was GTWTW and Wizard of Oz that were the biggest movies using color.

A bit out of sequence... I usually start my Sunday with a coffee and Rocky's post. But tonight, it's a Malbec at sunset - but Rocky hits the mark yet again!

Have a great week Rocky!

It's also a reason I don't post many OPs here. I find it to be a waste of time if all your efforts are unrewarded.

As much as I enjoy being a part of Forum 16 and the Aggie family, there seems to be an element where posters either neglect to blue star a post that they like, or they just don't do it as a practice, or they think someone's post doesn't deserve credit. It's not like blue stars are in someone's account. They're free to give away, no charge. And I'm not talking about myself, I see it all the time here. If you like someone's comment or meme, give 'em credit with a blue star. Is that too much to ask for?

It's as predictable as summertime heat...
