The Enlightenment era is over. We know nothing.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

my takeaway is that grok has been configured to unquestionably regurgitate government propaganda. Proof positive AI is and will be used against us

Or...was yesterday the distraction for the cover up...

Now that Google is using AI for search results, it has really really degraded. I was looking for the time and place of a comment made by John F. Kennedy, and it just refused to bring me back anything but the greatest hits of his speeches.

I tried everything and had to resort to using the index in several books in my library to find it. Thanks Google.

Google's dominance of the search market means making their search results worse actually increases their revenue. The worse your results are, the more time you spend on Google trying to find what you're actually looking for, and the more ads you see in the meantime.

Top link doesn't work. The substack link looks like a good summary of the reports I've seen elsewhere. If it was created by Grok, at least the details are correct.

Ad block is a glorious thing. I'm always shocked at how messy websites are when I see other people's screens who don't use ad block or if I happen to surf something on the work PC

Excellent point.

Reminds me of the video menu boards at some fast food places. Research found that taking the menu down every few seconds to show some something else like a logo not only made people buy more but distracted the consumer from the fact that they were waiting in line.

Quote:

A tiny Pentagon office had spent months investigating conspiracy theories about secret Washington UFO programs when it uncovered a shocking truth: At least one of those theories had been fueled by the Pentagon itself.
The congressionally ordered probe took investigators back to the 1980s, when an Air Force colonel visited a bar near Area 51, a top-secret site in the Nevada desert. He gave the owner photos of what might be flying saucers. The photos went up on the walls, and into the local lore went the idea that the U.S. military was secretly testing recovered alien technology.
But the colonel was on a missionof disinformation. The photos were doctored, the now-retired officer confessed to the Pentagon investigators in 2023. The whole exercise was a ruse to protect what was really going on at Area 51: The Air Force was using the site to develop top-secret stealth fighters, viewed as a critical edge against the Soviet Union. Military leaders were worried that the programs might get exposed if locals somehow glimpsed a test flight of, say, the F-117 stealth fighter, an aircraft that truly did look out of this world. Better that they believe it came from Andromeda.

I have found Grok a great assistant with technical questions; ex coding, Linux CLI commands, network switch CLI etc...

Same as Reddit, I wouldn't use AI for any subjective type queries, however.
