I busted a mirror and got seven years bad luck. But my lawyer thinks he can get me five.

99% of lawyers give the rest a bad name.

If lawyers are disbarred and clergymen defrocked, doesn't it follow that electricians can be delighted, musicians denoted, cowboys deranged, models deposed, tree surgeons debarked, and dry cleaners depressed?

Bondi-speak for: we have a lot of deeply flawed and extreme judicial nominees coming your way, and don't want anyone to know just how unqualified they truly are.

Tell me you didn't watch any of the Judiciary Committee hearings on Biden's appointees without actually saying so.

The ABA qualification review has been a completely partisan joke. So many of the judges activists with robes (now issuing national injunctions) were clearly unqualified and had gotten the ABA's stamp of approval.

Why do we let the lawyer union, have any say in our judges.

The ABA is far from being the 'lawyer union'. Most of us don't belong (and aren't required to). The ABA is a ridiculously partisan institution.

Attorneys admitted to practice are required to be members of the bar of their respective states (even that continues to be litigated), but the state bars are regulatory.

Just curious, since you work nationally, did you have to pass the bar in all 50 states? I admittedly don't know how that works...

So, anyway …

Two lawyers passed the bar.

The third went in for happy hour.

The ABA is like any other big institution. The only people that have the time to spend doing that bull**** are the people that don't make any money but want to feel like they're important. I.e. liberals.

It probably means he works for a corporation, or a firm with a large federal practice in his area. Not sure about that though. I'm the same way - own a firm that has clients Al over because a large part of my practice is federal tax.

I was being facetious, but hey if it stings then there is some truth in it.

There sure will be hell to pay if republicans will just appoint judges who follow the law. Radical.

Yep.

My practice is primarily Labor & Employment, but also deal with some commercial and general litigation. 20 years with a $95B company in all US states, Canada, Mexico and Australia. Now with a $10B company in 46 states, Canada, Mexico, and PR.

Always amuses me when the people from the general population criticize lawyers as if they're the problem, as opposed to...other members of the general population, who hire the people you're upset about.

Just a bit of advice from a non lawyer. I guess that makes me part of the "general population".

Don't refer to everyone else as the "general population". If makes you sound like a dewsh.

Step one. Don't be a dewsh.

I was responding to schmellba99, who's the one that said that first. He's not a lawyer.
