Let's just say I'm glad I have daughters instead of sons for their own sake.

(Well that and being a girl dad is awesome, but that's off topic.)

I have one of each.
The way one worries about a daughter is different from how one worries about a son.

Dads who have only girls don't and will never know the awesomeness of having a son. They think a daughter replaces it "with something better" but no. My father in law had 2 girls he would boast that his daughters are "better than sons", whatever that meant.

Insofar as we afford women the same political rights while also giving them favored status in social and legal domains, sure. I generally think looking at the broader U.S. system through the lens of immutable characteristics is a Marxist fools errand, which is why all the people who say the U.S. is a patriarchy, white supremacist nation are idiots. Trying to prove them wrong with "actually we have a matriarchy" is like the response "I'm not a racist, but…" It fundamentally subverts the whole concept of our nation.

If we did, Hillary and Kamala would not have been so unceremoniously tossed to the curb.
They were both really bad candidates.
It takes a special kind of brainwashed useful idiot to politically defend government fraud, waste, and abuse.

I have no idea if the #s are legit, but the directionality certainly is. Sedans: 2 kids cause you can't squeeze a third in. Vans/SUVs: 4 kids cause you can't squeeze a 5th in.

Being a full sized man trying to get kids clipped into 5t harnesses in multiple rows of a vehicle filled with car seats feels worse than mile 12 of a marathon.

And car seats have killed off one of the great joys of fatherhood: carrying a sleeping kid from car to bed.

The simplest test on whether we're in a patriarchy or a matriarchy is how conflicts play out. Which tools are allowed is a function of which sex sets the societal standards.

Masculine aggression is heavily penalized (physical violence) while feminine aggression (gossiping, shaming, & rallying) is ubiquitous.

Don't forget reputation destruction . That's a big one for women.

You just reminded me of my dad carrying a 7 year old me from my Aunt's place to our house around midnight which was about a 15 minute walk. I would wake up mid-journey, open my eyes but then pretend to be asleep so I could enjoy the ride. Dad left us 2 years ago.

Thanks for awakening this old memory
