You're thinking of two consecutive quarters of negative GDP growth, which is the textbook definition of a recession. Conversely, two consecutive quarters of declining inflation is a good thing.
I was being a smartass and acting like Jen Psaki trying to throw buckets of cold water on positive news.

Correct me if i'm wrong- and isn't GDP growth affected by cuts in government spending?

But tariffs ALWAYS cause inflation because they are dollar-for-dollar passed on to consumers.

Those numbers MUST be wrong.

Trump didn't create any meaningful tarriffs and won't. He is reducing foreign tarriffs. Trump gets to pivot off his campaign rhetoric about onshoring mfg by claiming it was all an Art of the Deal finesse.

Nothing will anger the left more than realizing Trump won by not doing what they hated on him for potentially doing.

i still struggle to believe any of these numbers. what i do know is when i buy things they don't seem cheaper. it seems like this is good news and i think what trump is doing to rework global supply chains is the right move but i am not so certain we are out of the woods yet. it is a delicate balancing act and need to be careful that we don't spin to deflation.
All I know is that Blue Bell just went up to $9.50 a half gallon at my local grocery store. Inflation has done what the great Blue Bell Famine of 2015 couldn't.... I'm buying more store brand ice cream.

Find a Lowes Market, blue bell on sale for $5.88 a carton this week and stock up.

What tariffs? They've mostly not been implemented and those that are are just starting to take effect in the economy, let alone hit lagging metrics.

I agree, it's really premature to spike the football on tariff impact. My guess is most of these posters aren't being intentionally obtuse, they just don't understand lagging indicators.

This is good news, assuming it's factual. I don't believe ANY govt data anymore. Whether "OrangeManBad" or "HousePlant".

Now, if only the stores knew this. I'm seeing price increases week over week, not year over year. Gas included.
